About the role:
Join us for an exciting one-year assignment as a Global Logistics CI Project Manager with Barry Callebaut, the world's leading producer of cocoa and chocolate products. In this impactful temporary role, you will play a key part in driving our logistics operations forward by identifying, developing, and executing continuous improvement initiatives. Focused on transportation and warehouse optimization, your work will deliver measurable savings, enhance efficiency, and streamline processes by implementing best practices. This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the dynamic world of global logistics and continuous improvement while contributing to Barry Callebaut's ambitious goals.
The Logistics CI Project Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing, and executing continuous improvement initiatives within logistics operations, focusing on transportation and warehouse optimization. This role aims to deliver measurable savings and enhance efficiency by streamlining processes and implementing best practices.
Key responsibilities include:
+ Process Optimization: Analyze current logistics and warehouse processes, identifying areas for improvement to optimize transport and warehousing operations.
+ Cost Savings Initiatives: Develop and implement strategies to reduce transportation and warehousing costs, contributing to overall business savings goals. Explore and identify synergies across different regions, to consolidate processes, optimize resource utilization, and reduce redundant activities.
+ Data Analysis: Utilize data-driven insights to identify inefficiencies and develop solutions to improve service levels while reducing costs.
+ Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with internal teams (e.g., transport, warehousing, procurement, and finance) and external partners to foster collaboration and ensure successful implementation of CI initiatives.
+ Productivity Workshops & Brainstorming Sessions: Organize and facilitate productivity workshops across global/regional logistics teams. Encourage participation in process optimization. Lead brainstorming sessions with cross-functional teams to generate new ideas for logistics improvements, innovation, and problem-solving.
+ KPI Tracking and Reporting: Define, measure, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track savings, efficiency improvements, and overall operational performance.
+ Project Management: Lead and manage CI projects, ensuring timely and successful execution while coordinating with cross-functional teams.
+ Continuous Improvement Culture: Promote a culture of continuous improvement by training and mentoring teams on Lean, Six Sigma, and other CI methodologies.
+ Technology Utilization: Leverage technology solutions (e.g., WMS, TMS) to optimize logistics processes and ensure efficient operations.
About you:
+ Master degree, preferably in Supply Chain Mgt, Operations Mgt area
+ Sound knowledge of logistics operations, relevant experience in the international environment
+ Relevant experience with top tier TMS implementations
+ Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma will be a plus
+ Professional English (written, verbal);
+ +5 years of work experience in global transport operations ideally in a food related area or freight forwarding/carrier industry.
+ Supply chain experience in other areas such as sourcing, supply planning, and warehousing is an asset
+ 5 years of experience in process design, optimization, efficiency programs and project management (desirable)
+ Extensive knowledge and experience in all modes of Transport i.e. Liquid/bulk shipment, temperature controller shipment, sea freight etc.
+ Experience in successful implementation of transport related continuous improvement and/or program management
+ Experience in developing operational tools and dashboards (desirable)
+ Experience in working in multinational and multi-functional teams
+ Sound knowledge on logistics solutions, trends and innovations
+ Previous experience with TMS implementation will be a plus
+ Previous experience with transport management is a plus
