Global Marketing Intern, Journals Marketing Intern

The Global Marketing Department within ACS Publications is responsible for developing marketing strategies and integrated campaign plans to engage and strengthen our relationships with our target audiences. The Department’s objectives for engaging our audiences are to increase the brand equity and, ultimately, enable the revenue capture for the Division’s product lines of over 80 journals, eBooks, and a range of digital offerings. The current target audiences include researchers, authors, reviewers, editors, institutional/corporate librarians, and administrators, funders, ACS members, and the range of end-users.

 

Position Summary

The Global Marketing Intern, Journals Marketing will work with Senior Marketing Managers, gaining experience across four areas of marketing: demand generation, product marketing, market research, and event management. The Global Marketing Intern learn new tools marketing tools, present plans and research, work collaboratively on projects, and learn scholarly publishing-specific product marketing tactics.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

    •  Support Demand Marketing campaigns: Create emails in Eloqua, an advanced email marketing platform, using templates to ensure consistency; Learn how to work with Marketing Operations to create audience segments in Eloqua; Work on digital and programmatic advertising campaigns through ad buying platforms; Brief graphics design requests with the in-house team.                                                                    

  •   Support Product Marketing: Observe stakeholder management through journal team meetings; Prepare PowerPoint presentations for journal meetings, including data collection, formatting, and editing; Learn about scholarly publishing tactics for new journal launches.          

   •  Support Market Research projects: Partner with Market Research team members to assist with survey building, data analysis, or other projects to be determined.                                                                               

 •  Support Global Events activities: Learn event marketing tactics and support Demand Marketing and Global Events with campaign execution; Assist Global Events team members with event planning logistics.

 

Education Requirements:
The Ideal candidate will be a rising college junior, senior or pursing a Masters/PhD in Marketing, Business, or Communications

• Currently pursuing a major in Marketing, Business, or Communications

Pay Transparency: This role is based in our Washington, D.C. office. The following are the intended hourly rates for this part time/nonexempt role: Rising Junior-$23.00; Rising Senior-$24.00; Current Grad/PhD Student- $27.00.

Any actual offer of employment, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be made in the sole discretion of ACS. ACS reserves the right to amend or modify its employment benefits and compensation structure at any time.

 

*This position will be primarily based in the Washington D.C. (or applicable) office. ACS employees work a hybrid work schedule, consisting of working onsite, two days per week. Schedule flexibility may be required for this role to support in-office activities. While always welcome to work in the office, employees may work the other three days of the week from a location of their choice.
