ITW Specialty Films, a global division of ITW within the Specialty Segment, manufactures and markets specialized coated films for the Secure ID, Medical Specialty Bag, and Financial Card markets. The division leverages unique core competencies and technologies in films, foils, laminates, and holography to address customer needs. The division operates in 5 manufacturing facilities (US, UK, and Germany), and offers a fun, fast-paced work environment with a dynamic, collaborative, growth-oriented team.

Job Description

ITW Specialty Films has an exciting opportunity for a motivated strategic marketer to make a positive impact and drive growth for some of the division’s primary market segments. As a key member of the global marketing team, the Global Marketing Manager reports to the Global Sales & Marketing Director.  This role has the exciting opportunity to make an impact on building and driving organic market growth strategies through strategic marketing strategies and growth focused innovation launches.   The position will drive and implement segment-focused growth strategies including product line, and value proposition strategies as well as positioning and go-to-market strategies. The position will manage a team of product managers, and will be based in our headquarters in Glenview IL. Primary Responsibilities:

Product Lifecycle Strategies

Captures and translates customer needs and market trends into cohesive, growth-oriented product life-cycle strategiesIdentify serial innovation opportunities that successfully address market needs and generate differentiated, sustainable and profitable growthLeads and/or oversees cross-functional teams through the innovation stage gate process working closely with the R&D teamTakes ownership and drives growth through successful product innovation launch and sales support.

Strategy Development and Execution

Obtains and leverages market insights to develop and effectively execute thorough vertical marketing strategies aligned with the divisional strategies and that position the division for growthLeads the development of product line strategies aligned with market segment strategies and clearly identify, validate and articulate our value proposition to the marketDevelops business cases for new target markets, products, services or customersManages pricing and develops strategies to maximize profitability and shareCreates effective cross-functional partnerships to capture input, leverage cross-functional expertise, drive buy-in and ensure successful execution of strategies at all levels of the organization

Market Segment Leader

Provides strategic leadership for the assigned vertical market segmentsBecomes the resident expert as it relates to market trends, competition and customer needs globallyEffectively drives and executes segmentation and market research (primary and secondary) as needed to hone in on growth opportunities and articulates how the division can capitalize on themProvides strategic insights, analysis and directional input into the division’s Long Range Plan and Annual PlanReports on assigned segment results, including revenue, growth rates, share gain, and profitability metrics and can explain key drivers of changeDrives results through management of Product Managers

Team Leadership and Development

Leads and develops strategic marketing talent to maximize individual, team and organizational effectiveness.  Fosters a culture of engagement, cascading vision, and creating goal alignmentCoaches through feedback, development planning and performance managementInfluences effectively not only functionally but across functions to help drive changeBuilds a strong pipeline of talent to ensure a diverse high performing marketing organization.

QualificationsBachelor’s degree required in business, marketing, or comparable discipline; MBA is a plus5-7+ years of progressive business experience including 4+ years of strategic marketing, pricing and product management experience. Excellent strategic thinker with industrial B2B strategic marketing experience is requiredWell-versed in deploying and leveraging various marketing research methods and proven ability to translate end user requirements into successful new solutions requiredHighly effective cross-functional influencer, communicator and collaboratorStrong ability to navigate complexity, to bring focus and simplify strategicallySolid analytical skills, pricing strategy experience and financial acumenGlobal cross-cultural experience a plus3+ years of experience motivating, coaching and developing a team.Up to 35% travel (domestic and international)
