Global Mode Team Leader

As the Global Mode Team Leader you will coordinate logistics procurement activities globally for your respective mode of transportation to ensure sourcing targets are met with the most efficient use of resources possible.  Provide mentorship and direction to Regional Logistics Mode Managers to ensure a consistent procurement strategy, based on the principles of supply/demand and local market dynamics, is implemented globally.  Additionally, act as the subject matter expert for all topics related to your assigned mode of transportation.  Through collaboration key collaborators, develop and implement pivotal initiatives to improve cost, performance, and reliability.  Develop strong professional relationships with key strategic partners to ensure alignment between our organization and theirs. In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Coordinate with regional Logistics Mode managers to align the strategy and timing of procurement/sourcing events with available resources.  Consolidate event specific plans into a high-level global procurement/sourcing strategy and schedule.  Develop and maintain a list of common procurement/sourcing principles for Transportation and Logistics Services.  Ensure understanding and adherence to principles for all regional commodity managers. Develop, implement, and communicate the procurement/sourcing strategy for your respective mode of transportation, ensuring alignment across the organization. Work closely with business unit Logistics and Supply Chain Leaders across the corporation to find opportunities and implement long term, sustainable solutions to improve supply chain performance. Own the effort to negotiate contractual agreements with key providers. Develop policies and procedures to efficiently manage the administration of the contracting process. Using business unit input, develop KPI’s to measure the operational and cost performance for your mode of transportation. Ensure the highest levels of carrier performance.  Train and empower business unit logistics leaders to resolve issues locally but act as a point of escalation as needed. Supervise and/or complete the data analysis required to ensure continuous operational improvement as measured by established KPI’s.   For This Role, You Will Need: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, (Logistics) Business, or Engineering 5+ years Supply Chain, Operations or Logistics experience Strong analytical skills Excellent project management skills 5 years’ proven experience in both traditional negotiation and electronic sourcing Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) Excellent interpersonal communication skills Open to travel, including globally, 25 to 30% Legal authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided for this role. Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: Master’s degree  degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field Understanding of transportation management systems Familiar with Basic Transportation Law Familiar with Basic Customs Brokerage & Trade Compliance  International Freight Forwarding Experience a plus

This role has the flexibility of a remote work option up to three days a week and a core hour schedule. You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm.
