SUMMARY OF ROLE:

The Global Packaging Applications Engineer will play a critical role in developing, optimizing, and supporting packaging solutions across diverse markets. This role focuses on bridging technical expertise and customer needs, ensuring that packaging systems meet functional, operational, and sustainability goals. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, sales, manufacturing, and customer support, to deliver innovative packaging solutions on a global scale.

Position will be located in Northlake Illinois.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Technical Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise for multiple market segments on key projects and in the field to resolve technical questions from customers on packaging and equipment Develop and implement packaging solutions for various product categories, ensuring compliance with pertinent international regulations and standards. Analyze and improve packaging systems to enhance performance, sustainability, and cost-efficiency. Project Management: Lead global packaging development projects from concept to implementation. Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, timelines, and budgets. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to source materials and equipment. Customer Interaction: Work closely with customers to understand their packaging requirements and translate them into actionable solutions. Conduct customer training sessions and provide ongoing technical support. Research & Development: Stay updated on the latest packaging technologies, materials, and industry trends. Drive innovation by identifying opportunities for new packaging designs and materials.

 

YOU BRING THESE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5 years of experience in packaging, preferably in a global or multi-market environment. Background injection molding fitments and connector systems industry is a plus. Preferred experience working food and beverage industry. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Project , Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, MS Teams). Robust understanding of packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and equipment. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Extensive the experience in managing projects Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with professionals of all organizational levels.
