Global Planning & Fulfillment Manager
Your role and responsibilitiesThis role contributes to the Measurement & Analytics Instrumentation Business Line globally. In this role, you will support the development of planning and fulfillment-related processes, skills, and tools. You will contribute to the BL's performance improvement, including sales and operations planning (S&OP), production planning, inventory management, resource and capacity allocation, short-term planning processes, and end-to-end (E2E) order management, configuration, and quotation. You’ll have the opportunity to design and implement processes to streamline the planning and execution of customer orders, from order configuration and intake to order fulfillment, collaborating with both Sales Units and Manufacturing Units as part of an effective process integration effort. Your ability to work with cross-functional teams and understand challenges and opportunities from all impacted standpoints will be a key success factor. You will define enhancements to supporting tools to effectively assist local teams in planning and execution. You will also showcase your expertise by implementing effective planning strategies in line with business objectives to ensure that factories have the capability and capacity to meet current and future business requirements. You will be part of the Business Line Operations Team and will report to the Global Planning and Fulfillment Manager of the Business Line.Your responsibilities:Support the implementation of planning and fulfillment strategies aligned with the business strategy.Support end-to-end process optimization to reduce overall lead times, target market demands, and improve customer on-time delivery.Support the implementation of sales automation to increase order automation, reduce order processing time, and decrease the workload for LSU and PMU.Train local organizations on processes and systems, and support them in defining specific local processes.Support in defining global methodologies and guidelines related to end-to-end (E2E) order planning and fulfillment, and facilitate their adoption in sales and manufacturing units.Maintain and support inventory management processes and guidelines in manufacturing units in accordance with business area/division instructions.Perform standard and ad hoc detailed analyses of planning and fulfillment metrics, including inventory, on-time delivery, lead time, forecast accuracy, and resource utilization. Monitor performance (KPIs) and support improvement actions.Identify key root causes for non-performance and drive improvement initiatives within the area of responsibility.Establish and share best practices for operations planning, inventory management, resource management, and order handling. Facilitate the sharing of practices and solutions across sales and manufacturing units.Support local operations planners, master schedule planners, and material planners in implementing new processes and/or tools for production and material planning.Manage effective relationships with all stakeholders involved in defined improvement projects to maximize results for ABB.
Qualifications for the roleTo be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related discipline. You bring over 10 years of experience and a proven track record in operations planning and supply chain management within global, complex organizations, ideally in industries such as industrial automation, automotive, or aerospace.You will be responsible for fostering strong cross-functional team collaboration and for effectively planning, managing, and tracking improvement initiatives and cost budgets. Advanced knowledge of SAP ERP operations modules will be essential in fulfilling your duties.To excel in this role, you must have a highly proactive, results-driven attitude and a strategic approach to decision-making from a global perspective. You should be adept at navigating a highly international and multi-cultural environment and be fluent in English, with excellent teamwork, organizational, and people management skills.You must also have the flexibility to travel as required for the position.
