Title: Practice Leader – PostgreSQL Database Team
Location: Anywhere in the USA

Datavail is seeking a dynamic Practice Leader for our PostgreSQL Database team. This role is pivotal in driving sales and revenue growth by leading enterprise customers through transformative projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in IT Strategy, consulting, complex database solutions, and hybrid cloud operations, all with a strong emphasis on sales and business development.

This role brings an exciting opportunity to run and grow Datavail’s PostgreSQL Database Practice, which is one of the fastest growing in the company.  The Practice Leader runs a global operations team of PostgreSQL DBAs at many different experience levels.  We are looking for someone who not only has worked with offshore operations but is able to speak to technologies in the AWS, Azure and OCI cloud.  You will be working with multiple cloud partners such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud.

Responsibilities

Engage customers - collaborate with enterprise sales managers and solution architects to develop strong customer and partner relationships and build a growing business  Enable sales. Create solutions within your practice that are relevant to the market.  Looks for database market tends.  Partner with sales reps and related teams to nurture deals and bring them to closure Work with the service delivery team in order to ensure customer success Operate a practice of about 7 Senior DBAs onshore and 30 offshore with a manager offshore Develop processes and procedures to increase efficiency and reliability of your team Deliver value - lead high quality delivery of a variety of customized engagements with partners and enterprise customers in the commercial and public sectors. Lead great people - attract top Database talent to build high performing teams of consultants with superior technical depth, and outstanding customer relationship skills Be a customer advocate – Ensure your customers are getting the value from your practice’s services  Responsibility over a Profit and Loss statement (P&L) Ensure profitability and performance of your team Speak at conferences and webinars Work with marketing to ensure your practice is at the forefront of lead generation Reports to the SVP of Database Services
 

Basic Qualifications

BA/BS degree or equivalent experience; Computer Science, MIS, MBA background preferred At least 8 years’ experience as the following: Senior Database Administrator, Lead and Manager Worked as a solution architect, sales engineer or similar Stays on top of upcoming trends in the database industry Ability to travel to client and partner locations when needed Ability to travel to our offshore locations as needed (Colombia, India, Canada) Outstanding customer relationship management, delivery experience and collaboration skills Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, solution, and technical challenges At least three years’ experience as a consulting practice leader as manager of a team over at least ten people Works well with peers and supervisor to further department and company goals; open to feedback Meet our core values –  Desire to serve – Our approach to our work and our lives is one of humility and servant leadership.
