Key Responsibilities:

The Global Procurement Manager for Strategic Sourcing handles sourcing for their respective category and leads cross-functional supplier qualification and sourcing activities for assigned category. This role is the strategic interface towards supplier and accountable for building strong and strategic supplier relationships; ensure alignment, anticipate changes, and drive activities based on supply market changes and recommendations of task forces. 

The Global Procurement Manager for Strategic Sourcing supports United’s Global Procurement team by successfully leading a team and sourcing initiatives within the designated categories. This role is responsible for meeting and exceeding business objectives in terms of scope of service, quality, risk mitigation, delivery timing, and cost.

Handle end-to-end accountability for defining the category and supplier strategy with stakeholders in line with the guidance of the commercial task forceDrive supplier selection according to category strategy, supplier base development, recommendation for the task forces, and identification of new suppliersDrive supplier selection according to category strategy, supplier base development, recommendation for the task forces, and identification of new suppliersCo-lead contract and price negotiations with suppliers with the commercial task forceConduct requests for complex proposals (RFPs) to competitively source products and services, including gathering requirements, identifying vendors, proposal evaluation and scoring, stakeholder engagement and total cost ownership (TCO) analysisEnsure alignment, anticipate changes, and drive activities based on supply market changes and recommendations of task forcesResearch supplier market dynamics/intelligence and use it as input into the strategyMonitor and report compliance to Source-to-Pay (S2P) process per entityNegotiate commercials and contractual terms to drive savings and reduce overall risks while ensuring stakeholders’ needs are metRedline and negotiate contracts by collaborating with United’s legal department, Global Procurement leadership and other stakeholder departmentsManage business relationships with key internal stakeholders and external suppliers including routine enhancements to agreements, communication of demand/volume changes, updating contracts and sharing end-user feedbackPromotes co-operation and communication between internal stakeholders across participating entitiesManage and/or mentor team, provide guidance and valuable input on all mentioned responsibilitiesTrain and develop individuals and all team members on spend data analysis and relevant toolsProvide support, partnership and direction to team membersQualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Legal, Supply Chain, or another business-related field4+ years of consulting, sourcing, legal, audit, or finance experienceHighly analytical with excellent problem-solving skills Strong communication, negotiation and relationship building skills.Strong cross functional leadership skills.Experience with both internal stakeholder and supplier relationship management,Ability to work independently.Efficient conflict resolution skills.Excellent market information analysis skills and supply market knowledgeSkilled in strategic minded project managementWorks well in high-paced cross-functional environmentMust be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorshipSuccessful completion of interview required to meet job qualificationReliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the positionWhat will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):Master's degreeMBACPM (Certified Purchasing Manager)5+ year track record in Strategic Procurement Previous experience with assigned category preferredExperience/understanding of airport operations, business partners, contracts, policy and any compliance effortsExperience with transportation fuel, aviation fuelProficient in data analysis and visualization, reporting and business intelligence tools

The base pay range for this role is $99,750.00 to $135,960.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
