Your role and responsibilities

As the Global Product Manager for the Fuse Cutouts & Switches product line at ABB, you will have the opportunity to manage the marketing of ABB’s offerings to targeted market segments and manage the offerings throughout their lifecycle, in line with market needs and division/product group/business line strategy and targets. Each day, you will be accountable for the long-term profitable growth of an offer. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting business results by overseeing each step involved in the offer lifecycle including development, launch, go-to-market, maintenance, pricing, and profitability.The work model for the role is hybrid (#LI-Hybrid) in the Greater Raleigh, Durham, Mebane, and Pinetops, NC area. The main production facility for this position's product line is facilitated through Pinetops, NC.You will be mainly accountable for:- Market Analysis & Growth: Conduct market intelligence analysis to identify portfolio gaps and emerging opportunities. Collaborate with GPMs (Reclosers – ANSI and Indoor/Outdoor Switches) to develop growth plans, focusing on white spaces and high-potential market segments.- Product Development & Specifications: Define technical and market requirements for products. Collaborate with the R&D team to execute investment plans efficiently, ensuring swift time-to-market for new product launches.- Customer-Centric Strategy: Analyze market trends, customer-driven standards, and competitive positioning. Develop customer value propositions tailored to specific segments and channels, ensuring sustainable growth.- Business Development: Explore opportunities to optimize the portfolio, including enhancing existing products or identifying acquisition targets.- Lifecycle Management: Lead product lifecycle processes by assessing performance metrics like orders, gross margins, and profitability. Make data-driven decisions about product obsolescence and end-of-life to maximize profitability.

Qualifications for the role

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering (or equivalent). A degree in Business Management is a plus.8+ years of experience in product management, marketing, or related roles. Leadership and people management experience is preferred.Knowledge of North American electrical networks (standards, products, applications, utilities) is advantageous.Previous experience in SAP and Project Management tools strongly preferredGlobal mindset with proven intercultural competence and willingness to travel internationally (estimated international travel 1-2x a year, addition for domestic travel but not heavily traveling)Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
