Your Role:

Lead one or more early or late stage global drug development project teams as defined by RDC governance.

 

Responsible for leading cross-functional program management activities for one or more Discovery Program Team (DPT) and/or Global Program Team (GPT) beginning at Exploratory Development (ED) and through to market launch and life-cycle management, with the goal of bringing new medicines to patientsPartners with the Global Program Head (GPH), the Program Steering Team (PST) and the overall Global Program Team (GPT) members to drive and execute of the Integrated Evidence PlanOwn the integrated program plan includingBudget, timelines, scenario plannings to be in line with High-level Operational Plan in the IEPProactively identifies, highlights, and mitigates or manages risk at the program levelOwn decision trees how the GPT will pivot @ inflection points when data come throughEnabling on-time or accelerated decision points and milestones.Collaborates with GPT members to develop high-quality data packages for governance and committee interactions to enable fast decision-makingProvides an independent voice to shape the program strategy, scenario planning and drive optimal decisions for the broader portfolio value:Prioritizes overall program success over single-step success,Takes the enterprise view into account when it comes to operational strategyDrives overarching GPT charter and PST charter development to clearly define R&R, communication plans, ways of working, GPT goal setting and performance review processOrganizes and coordinates information flow within the GPT and acts as an integrator within the GPT and across the organization to ensure alignment and leverage best practicesManages, leads and coordinates PST Meetings including agendas, presentations, minutes and follow up of action itemsIn alignment with the GPH, manages the internal (senior management) and external (investor relations, scientific community) program reporting and communicationFunctions as a change agent for continuous improvement and transformational initiative implementation within the GPTAccountable for the quality and accuracy of program-level data in the iMAP system in partnership with the Program PlannerLeads cross-functional program management expert team within the GPTPartners with Business Development on relevant in-licensing and out-licensing opportunitiesFor programs that are being jointly developed, works closely with a key strategic alliance partnerLeads the program evaluation to provide data to Portfolio Management as part of the strategic planning processAccountable for validation and sign-off of program level financial data for SD and ForecastsProactively contributes to the department by sharing knowledge and supporting others through coaching and mentoring, thereby increasing the collective performance of Global Program ManagementLeads and / or contributes to organization-wide and functional initiatives or represents the department effectively on cross-functional teams to contribute to the broader organizationAble to work independently and requires minimal direction from GPH during the preparation of governance and committee interactions and for decision makingProvides operational leadership to the GPT of a large complex, multi-indication high priority programDemonstrates advanced leadership skills and is capable of building and fostering a high-performing team environmentCoaches and mentors more junior PMLs and new members to the program team

 

Who You Are

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or other discipline related to drug development is required. Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MBA) is preferredProfessional Program Management certification (e.g., PMP) desirable

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Approximately 8+ years of experience in drug development in the global pharmaceutical industry with approximately 4+ years direct experience in program managementDemonstrated ability to manage cross-functional and global drug development teamsAdvanced proficiency of the cross-functional drug development process and critical thinking (product positioning, competitive landscape, program strategy)Advanced leadership skills including situational leadership and ability to influence without authority with clear potential for challenging leadership roles in the futureAdvanced proficiency in written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated ability to independently resolve complex issues and manage stakeholder interactionsAdvanced proficiency in managing the program management triangle & navigating / coordinating cross-functionally. Advanced ability to manage program complexity and executionEnriched experience in financial valuations of programs, risk management, decision making, and scenario planning
