Global Receivables & Distribution Finance Group Controller

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an accounting expert to join our Commercial Banking accounting leadership team as a Group Controller. This role will lead a global team of over 20 accounting professionals supporting the firm’s Global Receivables & Distribution Finance businesses by providing financial advice & insight for new product development and financial reporting requirements. This role will be critical to developing controls around operational & reporting processes to support accurate internal & external reporting.


In this role, you will:

Manage a team supporting large, complex functional areas related to financial accounting

Work with management to establish companywide strategic plans and objectives, directing and controlling accounting, internal controls and reporting functions and activities

Act as the subject matter expert or final authority in specified accounting disciplines

Provide technical interpretation on various matters and is essential in building and adopting best practices within the functional area

Lead implementation of complex projects and initiatives impacting one or more lines of business

Interact with leadership to provide support and drive strategic initiatives for the business

Recommend compliance and risk management requirements for supported area and works with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives

Provide strategic consultation to leadership throughout the enterprise

Interact with external agencies, regulatory bodies or industry forums

Lead a team of managers, consultants, cross functional or virtual teams in accomplishing goals

Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives in Enterprise Finance

Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy

Required Qualifications:

6+ years of Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Financial Reporting, Accounting Reporting or Risk Reporting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

3+ years of management experience


Desired Qualifications:

Active CPA

Financial Services - Commercial & Corporate Banking accounting experience

Accounting system of record leadership experience

Y-14 Schedule H Reporting experience

Excellent verbal and written communication

Experience managing in a matrixed environment

Ability to consult with senior leaders and provide solutions


Job Expectations:

This position offers a hybrid work schedule in our Dallas market
