About the role The Global Regulatory Affairs Manager assists the Global Head of Regulatory Affairs by: + Updating and maintaining global quality management guidelines and procedures in relation to the Food & Labeling regulations, trade agreements (EU with all other countries across the globe) + Providing the necessary support and advice concerning EU trade agreements with all countries, sustainability standards & regulatory issues + Lead Regulatory change projects to ensure compliance. + Coordinating and following up on activities in the Regulatory Affairs team Key Responsibilities include + Provides expertise and advice on free trade agreements, sustainability standards and regulatory affairs + Ensures follow up of trade association and governmental activities to be informed about current, proposed and pending legislation. + Advises the Global Head of Regulatory Affairs which information is relevant for our business and communicates this information to different departments, depending on the relevance. + Single Point of Contact for the Master Data department for the modification of Technical Sheets for what concerns regulatory, sustainability requirements. Manages Global Regulatory Projects together with Master Data. + Represents Global Quality in the Sustainability Certification COE (Community of Experts), in which the position is responsible to liaise with the Region QA to communicate and guarantee that the requirements for the Sustainability Audit are in place. + Together with the regional QA, develop training plans for the QA sites in all regions - Chocolate and Cocoa - to ensure successful audits certification in each site. + Has a global view, compile, review the standards, communicate changes, follow up and coordinate the data collection and data maintenance of sustainability certification systems (Fair Trade, RSPO, UTZ, etc.). Is the link with the Global Sustainability Team and Global Quality. + Is responsible for the creation and maintenance in SAP of the Global legal groups, LDI’s (Legal Denomination Indicator) including their worldwide translations (more than 20 different languages). + Manages all LDI’s and discusses with Marketing and/or Sales Managers regarding specific customer requests. + Coordinates with the different Regions the compilation, gathering and processing of information regarding Regulatory procedures. + Supports the Global Head of Regulatory Affairs in the coordination and follow up of activities in the team: management and coordination of all the Team Meetings, action log, follow-up actions, and discussions with Master Data for all the Global Regulatory Projects. + Prepares relevant Global Quality Statements pro-actively as well as on specific request, and manages their approval. Administers and manages the statements database. + Supports Sourcing and Supply Chain concerning applicable Free Trade agreement and import and export duties and customs relief possibilities based on searching and screening governmental websites for relevant information About you + Master Degree in a food engineering, food science, nutrition or equivalent + Fluent in English, another EU language is mandatory and other languages an asset + Minimum 7 years of relevant working experience in a regulatory position in a food or pharmaceutical company + Strong Project Management experience + Strong drive to deliver and to take initiative + Compliance driven + Proven sense of prioritization + Strong Internal and external customer focus + Good networking and communication skills + Stakeholder management with senior executives in the organization / VP Level + Able to take initiatives with a strong drive to deliver + Influential and conflict management skills + Adaptable to changes + Ability to deal with ambiguity At Barry Callebaut, we are committed to Diversity & Inclusion.
