Global Safety & Identity Program Manager
**About The Role** We are seeking an analytically-minded, organized, and motivated individual to join Uber's Central Safety team to focus on a wide range of sophisticated safety issues! The team owns the development of Uber's global safety programs and standards and is looking for someone to help identify, catalog, and develop mitigation strategies for emerging safety risks related to User Identity. This role calls for a combination of deep operational skills to get great work done, the innovation and creative thinking that's required to challenge the status quo, and the emotional intelligence required to come to a consensus with a team of cross-functional and global stakeholders. You should be comfortable in an "all hands on deck" environment, love solving problems, thrive in a hyper-growth culture, and above all be passionate about the safety of people and the cities in which we operate. Working with teams across the globe, you'll need excellent stakeholder management, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to clearly communicate and present information to seek buy-in in a fast-changing environment. **What You'll Do** + Act as the Safety owner for User Identity, defining the problem space and risk profile, recommending safety controls to address gaps, and rigorously setting, scoring, and overseeing key program goals and objectives + Think strategically about long-term scale and adaptability of identity programs, utilizing cross-functional expertise internally as well as external industry-leading practices + Identify operational and structural weaknesses and design mitigating strategies and controls in collaboration with Product, Data Science, and other cross-functional teams + Develop minimum safety requirements or standards across our primary lines of business + Take an analytical approach towards issue identification, root cause analysis, understanding of safety controls performance + Plan and execute monthly safety reviews for all mega-regions related to your program + Work with stakeholders in the Operations and Safety organizations to promote, change, and deploy new tools and strategies + Develop relationships with functional leaders and key cross-functional partners across global operations, product, and global safety support **Basic Qualifications** + A minimum of 4 years of industry or consulting experience in identity verification, fraud or screenings, or related consulting experience in project or program management, global operations, and or related fields + Bachelors degree obtained **Preferred Qualifications** + Excellent analytical skills, preferably including SQL, and demonstrated success in uncovering data to inform risk-mitigating and customer-oriented decisions + Ability to design processes in a fast paced environment without a prescribed template + Ability to drive consensus and actionable results across highly cross-functional teams + Strong program and project management skills with focus on KPI setting and tracking + Excellent written and oral communication skills; Influential with great presentation skills and the ability to tell clear, compelling stories out of complex issues and analysis + Experience managing cross-functional projects and stakeholders + Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects under competing pressures + Must be a flexible self-starter who is comfortable with rapid changes and a fast-paced environment + Passion for Safety as it relates to all parties interacting with the Uber platform + MBA or Master's degree a plus + Global work experience a plus For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$129,000 per year - USD$143,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
