The Global Security Watch Officer is required to support the security and intelligence function of the Global Response Center by proactively monitoring the world for global threats, assisting with emergency medical and travel cases through written and verbal communication, and supporting the Global Security Specialist Team within depth research and analysis.

Performance Objectives:

1) Gain understanding of the Watch Officer process: During the first 30 days establish knowledge on company systems, protocols, and processes to triage crisis response calls and escalate incidents appropriately within the Global Security Team and organization. Learn how to operate On Call International’s Intelligence Alert Program with minimal supervision as well as respond to basic client inquiries while updating On Call’s Daily Risk Spotlight publication.

2) Provide intelligence analysis and briefings: During the first 60 days, provide intelligence analysis and contribute to custom risk assessments for clients, colleagues, and senior management covering topics including crime, political risk, and terrorism. Support Global Security Specialist Team with ongoing research and assigned tasks to provide intelligence products to enable client decision making. Ability to independently identify relevant travel disrupting incidents, research situations, and draft curated briefings to help travelers mitigate risk.

3) Support Emergency Assistance Operations: During the first 90 days, be able to handle the initial response to an incident, including potential emergency evacuations, and play active role supporting Security Team in getting travelers safely home in crisis scenarios.

Position Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Criminal Justice, Security, Emergency Management, Business, Journalism, Communications, or related discipline preferred. Relevant work, military, or law enforcement experience will be considered.

Experience

Up to 2 years relevant experience.

Experience researching and writing clear and concise briefs in response to complex questions.

Experience with mapping software or data visualization platforms.

Knowledge of travel tracking and intelligence platforms.

Formatting skills, specifically proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Experience with developing Crisis Management Plans, Emergency Action Plans, or Business Continuity Plans.

Overseas work experience preferred but not required.

Military, law enforcement, or government background preferred.
