Global Sourcing Manager

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Management of global supply base to maximize performance and leverage to positively impact financial performance of all Woodward business groups. Includes all aspects of commercial and contractual management of the assigned suppliers. Key focus is the selection and development of the supply base to match Woodward's future needs, but also includes support of the business group based purchasing functions in the areas of strategic alignment and critical issue escalation. Travel will be required, both domestically and internationally

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Strategy Development (supply base/market knowledge, business integration, deployment planning, internal alignment, global awareness):  Understanding of more advanced market influences (forecast of indices, labor, geopolitical, emerging markets, etc.) with integration into strategies across multiple countries and regionsSupplier Relationship Management (commercial management, internal coordination and alignment) and Strategic Relationship (risk sharing, contractual creativity, etc.)Member of the Global Supply Chain team, contributing to the development of organization direction, strategies and modelsContribution in the global sub-commodity strategies, incorporation of regional specific expertise and insight, and execution of strategic projects to meet committed performance levelsSupport Global transitions projects in the industry businessSupport continuous improvement or supply base performance improvements in the areas of quality, delivery and lead-time performanceOwnership of supplier relationship management responsibilities including supplier discover, development, contract negotiation, and performance management aligned with global strategiesCompliance:  Demonstrated understanding of intent of Global Sourcing standardized processes to ensure desired resultsAccountable for deployment of the global standardized processes and best practices

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

University degree in Materials and/or Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience2-5 years of experience in combined areas of sourcing and general business. Interpersonal Skills:   Build and maintain effective working relationship with international and external stakeholders across domestic and international functions and organizationsCommunication Skills:   Ability to convey complex topics to medium sized groups internally and externallyTools:   Strong use of electronic tools including MS-Office programs, MRP/ERP systemsData Analysis Skills:  Ability to transform data to logical solutionsMetrics/Results Driven:  Ability to develop plans and strategies to ensure achievement of goals and objectivesProblem Solving/Ambiguity:  Ability to execute actions that are not clearly defined and drive appropriate actions for known risksSome experience in leading Continuous Improvement activities through Six Sigma/LEAN methodologies and tools
