Global Spirit Management Platform Expert

Context around the position:

Pernod Ricard is the global co-leader in wines and spirits and the leader in the premium segment. Listed in the Paris CAC40, Pernod Ricard has a portfolio of prestigious brands such as Ricard, Absolut, Chivas Regal, Ballantine’s, Jameson, Martell, Havana Club, Mumm and Perrier-Jouët. With an annual turnover in excess of €9bn, the Group is present in 80+ markets around the world and employs more than 19,000 employees.

The Global Spirit Management Platform is the Group platform for ageing products that manages 70% of the maturing stock of Pernod Ricard, the value of which is in excess of €8bn. Today’s footprint of Brand Companies covers, MARTELL including UVPC (Union des Viticulteurs Producteurs de Cognac), SPA (Société de production Armagnac), CBL (Chivas Brothers limited), IDL (Irish distillers limited) and YBC (Yerevan Brandy company).

The system has been in existence since 1992, known as Spirit1, and covers a vast area of the Operational management and reporting of spirit in Casks and Vats both full and empty. 4.5M€ of Capex has been spent during the last 3 years in order to build a best-in-class Spirit Management Platform, leveraging the most recent technologies making the various applications of the platform modern, minimizing the risks for the next decade in terms of technological obsolescence and human expertise.  

The ambition, is to continue to support and build on the achievements to date, to extend the scope of functionality and geographical reach of the platform across the Pernod Ricard Brand Companies and through development of new features, AI initiatives, seamless integration to other Operational systems and more intelligent use of data, in order to make Spirit Management a Platform of differentiation for Pernod Ricard   

The main responsibilities are:

Actively participate in defining the capabilities roadmap & strategy

Drive the Global Spirit Management Platform roadmap & strategy

Gather affiliate’s requirements to build the roadmap

Actively communicate with affiliates and the affiliates Business Relationship Managers on the roadmap

Lead the local deployment of the roadmap 

Work with the local affiliate to manage the deployment of the roadmap features

Support affiliates on the local usage and capabilities deployment

Manage relationship with external resources as required for deployments

Ensure Adoption of Global Spirit Management Platform & Capabilities

Ensure Change Management & promotion of the Global Spirit Management Platform within the affiliates

Share functional data expertise with affiliates

Drive on-boarding and trainings sessions to embark affiliates

Set and maintain Global Spirit Management Platform best practices and guidelines

Participate in and enrich the Global Spirit Management Platform reach

Build a community of all the functional capabilities and Operations stakeholders within Pernod Ricard group

Facilitate re-use and sharing of global and local assets, best practices, and projects.

Provide functional expertise to the wider SMP team

Review synergies of global / local aspects of requirements with other Platform Specialists

Provide necessary functional documentation for new features for the Development team

Perform high level testing of new features

The profile required is:

5+ years of experience in a related IT or Business role  

Languages and other skills:

Fluent in English; French is a nice to have

French is mandatory for the Platform Specialist role with focus on Martell

Strong business acumen

Project Management experience

Exposure to Production systems and related business processes

Excellent listening skills, strong attention to details, influencing style.

Multi-tasking, ability to prioritize, capacity to work transversally within the business & IT community in a changing environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build and maintain effective working relationships. Foster collaboration and cultivate innovation. Adaptability and demonstrated ability to interact with team members at all levels

Tools & technologies:

Capability to investigate & analyze data: relational database concepts and SQL knowledge required

Good comprehension of application technology (Web server, Application server, …)
