We provide our global teams with the resources needed to achieve individual career goals while helping to take science a step beyond by developing solutions for some of the world’s toughest challenges, like protecting the environment, making sure our food is safe or helping find cures for cancer. **Location/Division Specific Information** The Microbiology Division (MBD) manufactures and distributes products that diagnose infectious disease and detect bacterial contamination to serve customers in public health, clinical and pharmaceutical laboratories, food safety, and environmental screening. **Discover Impactful Work:** We're looking for a detailed oriented trade compliance professional to be responsible for the daily management of import and export activities. This role is a combination of creative work, routine, and work within trade compliance and Customs law. Your contributions help ensure materials and product are in place when needed to serve clinicians and labs in making informed decisions to provide faster answers and better care. **A day in the Life:** + Ensure accurate classification and jurisdiction determination of products to include: Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), Country of Origin, Commerce Control List (CCL), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and other applicable Partnering Government Agencies (PGAs). + Ensure timely customs clearance by supervising daily import activity, providing import instructions, and resolving Customs and PGA holds. Using Entry Verification and Global Trade Visibility modules in OneSource to enhance auditing and close gaps. + Support the development, maintenance, and delivery of internal training. + Maintain, audit, and reconcile records in accordance with applicable regulations and company policy. + Collaborate with internal departments and complete routine self-assessment to ensure adherence to trade compliance program. + Identify and support savings strategies, including Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), Section 301 exemptions, and other trade programs. **Keys to Success:** **Education** + Bachelor degree preferred **Experience** + 1-2 years' experience in customs compliance, import/export shipping or operations, or related industry + Certified Customs Specialist, preferred **Knowledge, Skills, Abilities** + Familiarity with SAP ERP system and Thompson Reuters OneSource Global Trade software, preferred + Knowledge of HTS, General Rules of Interpretation (GRIs), Valuation, Rules of Origin, FTAs, and Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN) + Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams).
