Global Transport Management 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team in a key leadership role focused on Global Transport Management at Cencora. In this position, you will be responsible for optimizing our global and regional transportation networks, driving cost efficiency, and ensuring the strategic deployment of process improvements across air and ground transport operations. With a focus on freight cost management, the optimization of World Courier’s European and global networks, and the development of procurement best practices, you will lead initiatives that enhance operational and financial performance. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, drive sustainable transportation offerings, and manage global transportation projects to implement innovative solutions. This role requires a strong track record in procurement, transportation management, and project leadership, along with the ability to influence and drive change in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

Supporting the definition and deployment of processes and KPI’s to deliver governance, driving action to improve performance in the following areas: 

Freight Cost (50% focus)

World Courier Ground (trans-European road network) Optimization (15% focus)

Eurolink (European hub and spoke linehaul network) Optimization (15% focus)

Broader Global Network Optimization initiatives (20% focus)

Responsible for ensuring World Courier drive maximum value from transport partner spend. 

Leveraging procurement best practices, develops and deploys RFP program that delivers significant value. 

Create a freight model split that delivers global and regional visibility, ownership and accountability based on volume and spend. This model will include KPI’s that support meaningful MBR / QBR interactions with suppliers. 

Create an escalation model to ensure customer impact events are captured, resolved and used as input to the above MBR / QBR structure. 

Coordination of centralized Global Incentive Agreements 

Responsible for creation and leadership of support network compromising regional Subject Matter Experts. 

Environmental, Social and Governance  
 

Working with Director, Global Network Optimization as well as other World Courier and Cencora stakeholders, will strengthen our sustainable transportation offerings by Air and Road. 

General 

Facilitate initiatives to maximise the financial and operational efficiencies of World Courier’s vehicle fleet. 

Leading global transportation projects of varying scope to deliver process and technology to enable the business. 

Lead, coordinate, support and initiate global tech initiatives/activities/standards to enhance operational and financial efficiency.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 

 

Likely to have a minimum of 10+ years working for, or directly with Airline Cargo providers.  

Likely to have 5+ years directly related procurement/purchasing experience. 

Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent field of study. 

Experience in a health care services (supply chain distribution or services) environment preferred.
