A Globalization Project Manager with a technical background is important to drive globalization initiatives across Contact Center & Service Tools, Equity & Inclusion programs, production workflows, and technical automation. With the complexity of tool globalization and the need for deep technical expertise, having a dedicated expert in Austin—where many tool teams are based—ensures smoother workflows, enabling scaling, and innovation. This role ensures that machine translation (MT), AI/ML, and automation technologies are efficiently leveraged while maintaining quality and operational efficiency. They’ll also lead partner engagement, process standardization, technical enablement, and globalization readiness efforts—all critical to scaling localization impact within the company.
**Description**
- Participating in regular check-ins with partners to support project development and execution.
- Leading globalization projects from inception to completion, ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Advising business partners to provide innovative solutions that address strategic globalization challenges.
- Preparing and delivering presentations to senior leaders about the effectiveness and outcomes of globalization initiatives.
- Creating and/or supporting proposals for new solutions that have a positive business impact.
- Leading and driving geo-expansion initiatives to optimize efficiency, quality, and cost.
- Partnering with cross-functional teams to align with Apple's global strategy and provide detailed support to collaborators, service partners, and customers.
- Driving bug resolution and communicating status updates efficiently throughout development cycles.
- Collaborating to identify content for globalization suitability, develop terminology resources, and assess source content quality.
- Coordinating with vendors and working with the Linguistic Quality team to achieve the best quality for Apple’s customers.
- Handling schedule challenges, query cycles, and linguistic QA.
- Automating workflow processes to improve globalization efficiency and scalability.
- Applying JavaScript, Python, and AppleScript to streamline globalization workflows and integration with existing systems.
- Conducting data analysis to generate reports and insights that support globalization strategy and decision-making.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ BA/BS degree in translation / globalization or a related field.
+ 4+ Years of experience handling or leading globalization projects for a large, global organization.
+ Ability to lead teams that support multiple business units and balance challenging priorities efficiently.
+ Expert with translation management systems and tools; RWS WorldServer experience is preferred.
+ Exceptional program and project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects with varying timelines.
+ Strong background in project scope analysis and scheduling, ensuring alignment with project timelines and goals.
+ First-hand experience as a key participant in system-to-system integration, system upgrades, and CMS migration projects.
+ Deep experience with localization standard methodologies and shown experience efficiently mitigating complex globalization issues.
+ Diligent with the ability to explain sophisticated globalization challenges to cross-functional teams with varying levels of expertise.
+ Consistent record of leading a variety of file formats and content types, including software UI, self-paced online training, exams, technical documentation, and multimedia.
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to empower, influence, and collaborate at all corporate levels.
+ Comfort working in ambiguous environments with the ability to adapt to constant change.
+ Understanding of instructional design and content development processes, ensuring projects meet quality, specification, and deadline requirements.
+ Passion for customer experience and a keen eye for detail.
+ Experience with automating workflow processes.
+ Knowledge and experience with Machine Translation (MT) and AIML technologies and its application to globalization workflows
+ Knowledge of JavaScript, Python, and AppleScript.
+ Strong data analysis skills to create or assist with reporting needs.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Knowledge of call/contact center support workflows.
+ Familiarity with Apple Support and AppleCare.
