Job Summary:

 

As a Folder Gluer Operator, you will be responsible for understanding job work instructions, set-up, operating, troubleshooting problems during process, maintaining proper PM’s, and coordinating all personnel on the line.

 

Job Responsibilities: 

 

Must be able to read and understand customer specifications, job tickets and production paperwork.Must be able to coordinate all personnel on the Folder-Gluer and direct them to their described duties under Folder-Gluer Helpers.Make sure all adequate samples are provided before job setup has taken place. To perform the correct fold sequence.Perform quality at all times during process of folding and gluing. Correct glue alignment, fold sequence, and correct packing configuration.Responsible for correct qty packed in all trays, cartons, tubs, etc,Must maintain optimum production levels and minimize downtime.Perform set up for feeder, and carton gap.Set up pre-break section, crash-lock bottom section and folding section.Adjust machine speeds per job to maximum capabilities of the machine.Understand how the carton folds and design folds-i.e.; determine if a customer request is possible for the machine. Understand straight line, crash lock bottom box and specialty cartonsKnow all the machine parts name and capabilities of them.Set up bar code scanners, glue detectors, jam sensors, kick and ejection systems.Set delivery, compression unit, handy pack, and case sealing machines.Set up W.H. Leary, Melt pro, Label-Aire, Enerco Plasma Guns, WSI, Signature and Bobst computer systems on required jobs.Troubleshoot fold problems, stock problems, speed problems, glue problems, feeder problems, electronic problems and belt adjustments, air hoses and nozzles.Cross train lead helper to become a Novice folder-gluer operator for back-up.Heavy lifting required.Perform all machine maintenance weekly, monthly, bi-monthly and yearly.Communicate effectively with teammates on the machine. Be a LEADER.Train all helpers to become proficient at their positions on the folder-gluer.Demonstrate positive leadership abilities on the floor.Always responsible for Daily House-Keeping, at the end of each shift to hold and retain a clean and safe work environment.Maintain 5S procedures daily with all parts, tools, accessories, and work area.Use Company supplied PPE equipment when necessary.

 

Qualifications:

            

Education:

High school diploma or Equivalent

 

Experience: 

4 years of relevant experienceMust be able to maintain a safe work environment.Must have a working knowledge of the mechanics and electronics of the machinery.Must be able to work well with others and coordinate different tasks at the same time.Must be able to lead in a positive way.

 

Computer Skills:

Must be able to operate WH Leary glue systems.

 

Other Skills:

Must be very detail oriented.  Must develop a trained eye to spot quality defects.  Must have follow up and follow through skills on resolving problems and completing paperwork.Must be able to perform some heavy lifting.
