The General Manager Food and Beverage Projects, ensures that the organization remains true to the established purpose, vision, and strategic direction for the business. The General Manager of Food and Beverage Projects for North America is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive water and wastewater solutions for customers in the food and beverage industry. This role oversees projects from the initial bid phase through to completion of performance testing and warranty. The General Manager ensures alignment with Veolia's GreenUp strategy and the company's commitment to ecological transformation. This position is accountable for multi-faceted business results, with a focus on enhancing Veolia's reputation and market share in the food and beverage sector. The General Manager is responsible for building and developing a world-class team capable of delivering total solutions, including design, engineering, and commissioning of water and wastewater facilities. The General Manager needs to be a strong partner with Sales, Products & Technologies, Global Projects, Integrated Services, Chemical Solutions & Monitoring, Finance, HR, Procurement, Supply Chain, and other teams in the Water Tech Zone.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a 3-5 year strategy focused on total water and wastewater solutions for the food and beverage market.Lead a team of professionals across North America, fostering a positive work environment and culture focused on safety, diversity, and long-term employee retention.Leverage Veolia’s Food & Beverage technology portfolio to grow the installation footprint in North America and recognize environmental gains in decarbonization and depollution.Create and deliver on balanced KPIs measuring overall business health, including customer satisfaction, employee engagement, and financial results for the food and beverage P&L.Develop and expand Veolia's integrated offering for food and beverage clients, emphasizing total solutions management over pure technology.Strengthen and grow the services portfolio, including membrane technologies and chemical treatments.Enhance capabilities in full water room design, including mechanical and electrical installations.Build and grow the wastewater management business, positioning Veolia as a total solutions provider for food and beverage clients.Collaborate with the Water Tech Zone to leverage innovative technologies addressing specific food and beverage market needs.Establish and maintain strong relationships with key food and beverage customers and external stakeholders.Communicate effectively across the business while advocating for the NAM Food and Beverage Projects team.Structure the organization to reflect the long-term food and beverage market strategy and key objectives, setting the business up for achieving sustainable profit. Demonstrate Veolia values in every interaction, acting as a coach, mentor, and sponsor for employees.QualificationsEducation & Experience Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related technical field.Ten (10) years of experience in the water industryMinimum two (2) years of experience in P&L or equivalent in scope leadership roles.Preferred:
Advanced degree in Engineering or Business Administration.Experience with both water treatment and wastewater management Proven track record of developing and maintaining relationshipsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Excellent project or program management and team leadership skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.In-depth knowledge of water and wastewater treatment technologies Ability to manage tough decisions even when they are unpopular.Understanding of service-oriented business models in the water treatment industry.Familiarity with membrane technology and chemical treatments for water and wastewater.Key Characteristics:
