With strong knowledge of the external market and connection to our customers, the General Manager ensures that our work processes, tools, and collaboration align to add to our customer value proposition.
The General Manager of Microelectronics Projects for North America supports customers through the development and execution of new projects from bid phase through to completion of performance testing and warranty. This person ensures that the organization remains true to the established purpose of ecological transformation, aligning with Veolia's GreenUp strategy and the microelectronics market focus. The General Manager is accountable for multi-faceted business results, with a specific emphasis on improving and building upon Veolia's reputation in the microelectronics industry. The role requires a deep understanding of the microelectronics ecosystem and strong existing relationships with key customers. To be successful, the General Manager needs to be a strong partner with Sales, Products & Technologies, Global Projects, Integrated Services, Chemical Solutions & Monitoring, Finance, HR, Procurement, Supply Chain, and other teams in the Water Tech Zone.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Establish and align the business to support a 3-5 year strategy focused on the microelectronics market, emphasizing wastewater treatment, ultrapure water (UPW) solutions, and aftermarket services.Lead a team of professionals across North America, fostering a positive work environment and culture focused on safety, diversity and long-term employee retention.Create and deliver on balanced KPIs measuring overall business health, including customer feedback, employee engagement, and financial results for the microelectronics P&L.Leverage Veolia’s Microelectronics technology portfolio to grow the installation footprint in North America and recognize environmental gains in decarbonization and depollution.Develop and expand Veolia's integrated offering for microelectronics clients, capitalizing on existing strengths and identifying new opportunities.Invest in and reinforce the wastewater treatment strategy for the microelectronics sector.Reinvent and invigorate the ultrapure water (UPW) solutions to meet evolving industry needs.Build and grow the aftermarket business, leveraging the existing install base and positioning with new customers.Collaborate closely with the Water Tech Zone to leverage innovative technologies that address specific microelectronics market needs.Create and maintain positive long-term relationships with key microelectronics customers and external stakeholders, supporting escalated sales negotiations or claim settlements when necessary.Communicate effectively with partners across the business while advocating for the NAM Microelectronics Projects team.Structure the organization to reflect the long-term microelectronics market strategy and key objectives, setting the business up for achieving sustainable profit. Demonstrate Veolia values in every interaction, acting as a coach, mentor, and sponsor for employees.QualificationsEducation & Experience Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related technical field.Ten (10) years of experience in the water industry, with at least five (5) years specifically in the microelectronics sector.Minimum two (2) years of experience in P&L or equivalent in scope leadership roles.Preferred:
Advanced degree in Engineering or Business Administration.Experience with both water and wastewater treatment in the microelectronics industry.Proven track record of developing and maintaining relationships with key microelectronics industry players.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Excellent written and oral communications skills and reporting discipline.Strong group facilitation and conflict management skills.Demonstrated experience managing successful cross-functional project teams is essential.Ability to make tough decisions even when they are unpopular.Managing multi projects with varying duration.Ability to proactively identify upcoming project risks, issues and bottlenecks in order to deliver a successful project.Excellent analytical, time management, resource management and planning skills.In-depth knowledge of water and wastewater treatment technologies specific to the microelectronics industry.Strong understanding of ultrapure water (UPW) systems and their applications in microelectronics manufacturing.Key Characteristics:
