The program director has authority and accountability for the development and operation of the ACGME accredited Internal Medicine program. The program director has broad responsibilities that encompass every aspect of postgraduate medical education training.
Responsibilities
This essential functions includes but is not limited to :
• Curriculum and evaluation
• Developing and maintaining a positive learning environment
• Ensuring training and support for faculty as teachers, coaches, mentors, advisors and role models
• Supervision of residents and fellows, including duty hours, and
• Program management (e.g., program evaluation and improvement, communications, ACGME accreditation, program resources).
Qualifications
Education
MD or DO
Board Certified in Family Medicine
Minimum Work Experience
• Minimum of five years of clinical experience in family medicine, with two years as a core faculty member in an ACGME or AOA accredited family medicine residency program.
• Current certification in the specialty by the American Board of Family Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians
• Current medical licensure and appropriate medical staff appointment
