This position requires a comprehensive and detailed understanding of national accreditation policies as well as a high degree of initiative and independent judgment. This person will develop, initiate and/or direct a wide range of programmatic activities including program planning, project development and management, recruiting, updating policies, and using databases and residency management software system (MedHub).This position interacts with faculty, fellows, residents, and medical students and managing internal and external program relations.
The position is essential in training program operations and is a primary resource for learners, faculty and administrative staff, as well as liaison between the Residency Program Director, chief residents, residents, program faculty, GME Office, and affiliated teaching sites concerning residency program matters.This position is a requirement of the accrediting agency, the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Administrative support experience. An associate’s degree and three years of administrative, office, or project support experience needed. Willingness to obtain Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education (TAGME) certification within 3 years of hire date. Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience Willingness to obtain Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education (TAGME) certification within 3 years of hire date. Required License/Registration/Certification None Physical Requirements The physical requirements for this position include regularly sitting at a computerworkstation for extended periods of time with repetitive motion (such as typing); walkingincluding pushing, pulling, and/or lifting up to 10lbs and occasional pushing, pulling,and/or lifting objects up to 25lbs. Shift Monday through Friday (40 hours) some nights and weekends may be needed. Job Summary This GME Program Coordinator position will support GME residency programs with a Pediatrics component. The GME Program Coordinator serves as the administrative coordinator for one or more graduate medical education (GME) programs.
