Our Purpose: We pioneer the innovations that move and connect people to what matters The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for attaining GM Financial's originations objectives for an assigned sales territory. The RSM provides input and executes the sales strategies for assigned territories as well as provides leadership to the Sales team. This team member is a key link between sales operations, credit operations, and senior leadership. This leadership role must reside in the Grand Rapids, MI area or within close vicinity. Responsibilities About the role: Set goals and drive performance of the regional sales team Provide on going evaluation, training, education, and assistance to the assigned DAR team Make joint sales calls with Sales team members to support key relationships or enhance the opportunity for new business, as well as assess and find coaching opportunities Evaluate and balance territory assignments Assist each DAR in developing a strategic approach to managing and growing volume within their assigned territories Ensure sales operations are operating in accordance with company objectives Communicate to management the territory's objectives, strategies and operational results on a timely basis Work with Regional Credit Managers to build a team approach to dealer management and enhance communication and cooperation between organizations Support GM Financial's strategic initiatives throughout the region and ensure consistent support from entire Sales team Act as the liaison between internal departments to help coordinate training event and build engagement in the market Build strong relationships with GM counterparts and participate in their events to help promote GM Financial's offers Manage the team's budget as well as their portion of the regional budget to coordinate and plan dealer events Train, present and promote GM Financial's programs to dealer associations and GM Counterpart meetings Perform other duties as assigned Conform with all company policies and procedures Qualifications What makes you an ideal candidate: Advanced knowledge of data analytics and data mining Advanced knowledge of marketing and operational trends and tactics Advanced working knowledge of Excel Extensive knowledge of dealership operations and indirect auto finance industry required Extensive knowledge of the retail automobile finance industry Knowledge of automobile dealership laws related to collateral documentation and credit underwriting Knowledge of consumer lending policies and procedures Strong working knowledge of credit investigation / verification processes Working knowledge of Salesforce.com Ability to positively motivate, lead, coach and develop others Advanced Excel features such as Pivot tables, Macros, charts, graphs, etc Education Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required Experience 5-7 years sales and/or Sales Management experience required 3-5 years management and/or Leadership experience preferred Working Conditions 50-75% travel required Fast-paced office environment Strong focus on providing quality service to internal and external customers Flexible schedule with possibility of working long hours Subject to daily service level requirements Must be able to deal with stressful office conditions while troubleshooting problems Must be able to operate a motor vehicle (company, personal or rental) for travelling from one work location to another work site or training location #LI-WB1
