SUMMARY: The Lead Fountain Worker is responsible for the oversight of training and delegation of responsibilities within Starbucks and The Grill outlets such as inventory, customer service, drink preparation, and sanitation procedures. The Lead Fountain Worker will be the liaison between Starbucks Management and the Fountain Workers. This position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Company’s brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P. – Kindness, Engagement, Empathy and Positivity).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:• Schedules and assigns daily work assignments to a team and oversees the completion of tasks.• Leads and serves with the Black Apron behaviors; sets the shift standard and recognizes the positive actions of others.• Trains and guides staff on job duties, proper food safety and sanitation procedures, customer service, etc. to Starbucks, Golden Nugget and Health Department standards.• Assists with various new hire training on product preparation, cash handling procedures and cash register policies when settling guest checks.• Accurately input food and beverage orders into the Aloha system.• Maintains knowledge of menu items and recipes to effectively service the customer.• Assists in the development and implementation of goals and objectives for the Starbucks outlet.• Maintain uniform appearance according to established guidelines.• Greets everyone at all times. Smiles and makes eye contact and verbally greets guess and co-workers from arrival to the property departure.• Prepares and serves hot and cold beverages according to brand specifications and the customers’ requests.• Use suggestive selling techniques.• Ensures all equipment is in working order throughout shift in accordance with established standards. As well as ensuring the coffee and tea machines are cleaned on a daily basis. • Know locations of all Golden Nugget outlets and services available to the guests.• Responsible for obtaining, reconciling and returning cash bank at the beginning and end of shift.• Follow standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating and storing all products, keep work area neat, clean and organized.• Always invite guests back to the outlet.• Relay all guest compliments and complaints to the Manager on duty.• Advise Bus Persons of needed supplies and ensure outlets are fully stocked and the team is set up for success.• Fill pastry display as needed and monitor throughout the day.• Ensure that the Fountain Workers are assisting the Bus Person with cleaning tables, floors and emptying trash as needed.• Turnover/takeover station according to established procedures.• Complete assigned side work.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required• Must have good people skills and a well-groomed appearance. • Must read, write, speak and understand English. • Must have working knowledge of point of sales systems. • Must be able to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division). • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able share and review information and progressive updates to management regarding the Fountain Workers overall job performance.• Ability to work efficiently, independently and cohesively, consistently producing quality results• Must be able to train, teach, motivate and lead a team on a daily and consistent basis.• Must be a current Starbucks Certified Black Apron Lead.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:• High School or GED or related degree preferred• Minimum 2 year prior Barista experience (Starbucks preferred)• Minimum age requirement is 21
