Goldstrike - Underground Mine Engineer I or II

Position Description:

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for an Underground Engineer, Drill & Blast at our Goldstrike operation.  Execution of some aspects of small and medium sized projects, including planning, justification, engineering, design.

Responsibilities:

Work cooperatively with engineering teams and operations to develop and improve plans and procedures. Streamline design processes and investigate time saving measures Facilitate stope reconciliation reviews Work to improve autonomous drilling systems Lead cost saving initiatives. Measure and improve blast performance using various KPI’s Manage reliability of the centralized blasting systems Contribute to training for both underground operations and technical services personnel in drill and blast techniques/procedures Administer QA/QC of drilling and blasting activities. Assist with selections and application of explosive products Other projects associated with a progressive underground mining environment

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mining, Engineering, or related field preferred  Previous experience supervising and directing drill and blast activities preferred Two (2) to three (3) years of experience in underground mining engineering required Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with other departments to optimize the plans of current and future mining activities required Excellent safety record with the ability to demonstrate safety leadership required Ability to get BATF clearance to handle explosives required Experience using Vulcan, Deswik, and Microsoft Office Suite preferred Team leader, problem solver and excellent oral and written communication skills required Ability to cross-train with the mining engineering group required
