Summary You will serve as a GOLF COURSE MANAGER at the CARNEY PARK GOLF COURSE in the MORALE, WELFARE AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT at NAVSUPPACT NAPLES. Responsibilities You will be responsible for the efficient operation and administration of the Carney Park Golf Course. You will develop an annual budget taking into consideration salaries, supplies, repairs, replacements, and other expenses that reflects total self sufficiency and derives income from fees, rentals, and sales. You will supervise, schedule, train, discipline and evaluate employees. Including interviewing new hires, certifying time cards, and recommending action on leave requests. You will train personnel in the fitting or demonstration of golf merchandise, including clubs, bags, shoes, gloves, etc. You will purchase, display, promote and control resale of golf merchandise. You will develop, promote, organize, and coordinate golf tournaments and leagues. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Ensuring efficient daily operations of the facilities including the golf course, driving range, putting green, cart storage area, pro-shop, catering facilities and picnic area; 2) Overseeing golf course superintendents/greenskeepers who maintain practical aspects of building and developing the course; 3) Organizing and promoting golf tournaments, leagues and special events; 4) Evaluating golf course, driving range and putting green conditions and implementing turf maintenance; And 5) Providing outstanding customer service by addressing customer concerns, providing tips and advice to improve their game, and assisting with pro-shop purchases of clubs, apparel and merchandise.
