Golf Course Workers

Oakhurst Country Club is seeking Golf Course Workers with experience levels ranging from entry-level to skilled. Ideal candidates will possess knowledge and experience in irrigation, mechanics and other related areas of golf course upkeep.

Compensation: $18 to $27 / hour depending on experience level.

General Responsibilities:

Repairs and ensures proper operation of the irrigation system as needed. Waters greens, tees and fairways. Repairs greens with seeds or plugs of new grass as needed. Aerifies greens; verticuts and or mow tees and greens; spikes greens; operates sod cutter, spray rigs for greens and fertilizer spreaders; and mows rough with rotary and operates other equipment as directed. Inspects, adjusts, diagnoses and repairs mechanical defects in many types of golf course maintenance equipment. Performs mower grinding/sharpening, performs general overhaul of motors, reels, install and adjusts braking systems. Performs machining or welding work in making fittings used in repair of maintenance equipment. Maintains records of preventative maintenance, repairs made, parts ordered. Maintains up-to-date working knowledge of light and heavy construction and maintenance equipment and automotive apparatus. Skilled in the use of a wide variety of equipment repair tools and in the making of various types of mechanical repairs. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, and technical procedures.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee is regularly required to walk, stand, reach with hands and arms, and sit. The employee will occasionally be required to lift up to 50 pounds and regularly be required to lift up to 10 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work area is a typical golf course setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This employee will be working outdoors.
