Position: Golf Shop Attendant

Reports To: Head Golf Professional

Pay Range: $16.50 – $18.50 DOE

General Description of Duties:
The Golf Shop Attendant provides exceptional customer service to all guests while assisting with the daily operations of the golf shop. This role is responsible for guest check-ins, managing tee time reservations, retail sales, and maintaining an organized and welcoming golf shop environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Guest Services
o Greet and check in guests for their tee times with a friendly and professional demeanor.
o Answer questions about tee times, course policies, and general golf-related inquiries.
o Assist guests with merchandise selection and provide knowledgeable recommendations.

• Point-of-Sale Operations
o Accurately process payments for green fees, merchandise, and other services using the POS system.
o Handle cash, credit card transactions, and balance daily receipts.

• Retail Operations
o Organize and restock merchandise displays to maintain a clean and appealing golf shop.
o Conduct regular inventory checks and report discrepancies.
o Assist with promotional and seasonal sales efforts.

• Golf Shop Maintenance
o Ensure the golf shop is clean, organized, and fully stocked at all times.
o Report any maintenance or operational issues to management.

• Knowledge of Golf
o Provide informed assistance to guests, including advice on equipment and apparel based on their needs and preferences.
o Stay updated on current golf trends, products, and course conditions.

• Team Collaboration
o Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure seamless daily operations.
o Communicate effectively with the starter, player assistants, and other golf course personnel regarding guest flow and pace of play.

Qualifications:
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Previous experience working in a golf shop, retail, or customer service role required.
• Proficiency with POS systems and basic computer skills required.
• Strong knowledge of golf, including terminology, etiquette, and equipment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. to waist height.
• Frequent bending, turning, kneeling and stooping.
• Exposure to hot and cold temperatures.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods.
• Repetitive motion required including computer entry.
• Must be able to operate a golf cart in a safe manner.
• Normal vision and hearing ranges required.
• Must be able to fluently speak and write the English language.
