The Golf Tournament Coordinator will assist the Golf shop manager and the Head Golf Professional with all activities relating to the execution of the properties golf operations, including but not limited to Member tournaments, Resort and outside events, golf shop and point of sale operations, financial management, human resource management and maintenance of golf equipment.The Golf Tournament Coordinator is responsible for coordination and management of all golf events of 12 or more players. They will make the initial, intermediate and final calls with the client to plan the event. The coordinator is also responsible for organizing the tournament format, rental club needs, contests and prizes. They will also assist management with staffing levels and requirements for events. They might also be asked to perform duties outside of Tournament Coordination.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Responsibilities Market the golf course, food and beverage, banquet facilities through direct client contactConduct tours of the course and attend site visits with clientsMake outgoing calls once contracts are signed to review details of golf outings and communicate information in a pleasant and professional manner.Professionally communicate information, sell merchandise, and become fully knowledgeable in all products in the golf shop. Anticipate the needs of members and guests to offer appropriate merchandise alternatives.Create event orders for groups incoming, in detail to reflect their golf reservations and flow during their stay.Full understanding of our tee sheet systems , Foretees, block ahead of time for incoming group golf. Oversee that groups have been charged correctly for golf, rental clubs, merchandise, missing rentals, etc., for every group. Work with the golf sales manager to ensure the pace report and back log for resort and outside group golf is accurate.Step in to handle any issues the group may be having, assist in aligning the golf to the group’s expectation.Planning and coordination of upcoming events. Preparation for upcoming event. Performing day of tasks required for event. Performing tournament follow up tasks. Performing other tasks required by management.

Excellent communication and public speaking skills; verbal and writtenSolid computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and ExcelReputation for quality and attention to detailAbility and willingness to work long hours and weekends as demanded by business cyclesAbility to use logical and rational thinking to solve problems.Flexibility to work weekends and holidays Ability to manage multiple tasksOccasionally lifting of 50-60 lbs
