Government Accounting Specialist Senior
**Job Description** **US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED** \#LI-LO1 The Finance Strategic Capabilities Unit delivers the expertise and business acumen to increase value across the enterprise by providing actionable information with recommendations and opportunities to drive sustainable business growth. **What You ll Do:** + Utilize knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) to act as a business advisor for BAE Space & Mission Systems (SMS) relating to Government regulatory compliance and policy adherence. + Lead annual review, update, and submission of CAS disclosure statements by facilitating cross-department collaboration. + Develop cost impacts and general dollar magnitude estimates in alignment with CAS requirements as needed to support accounting practice changes. Analyze results to provide strategic direction to the business. + Analyze financial reports, records, and other general information as needed to support Government Accounting tasks, other Finance organizations, and for Government audits. + Assist in creation and maintenance of company policies and procedures and support implementation and interpretation as they relate to accounting, invoicing, and charging practices and their applicability to Government regulation. + Maintain current knowledge of all CAS standards and support related audits. + Utilize fundamental knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) to review financial records and reports. + Use a variety of BAE SMS electronic business systems and software tools to obtain, organize, and present relevant business data for management. + Support various aspects of the annual incurred cost submission (ICS) including data analysis, preparation of claim adjustments, direct schedule preparation, and other tasks as needed. + Lead and participate in meetings with other SMS departments, Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA). + Interface with Government auditors and other Government representatives. + Demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and accountability in all work performed. + Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule. + Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment. + Perform other duties as necessary. **On-Site Work Environment:** This position requires regular in-person engagement by working **on-site three or more days** each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required. **Working Conditions:** + Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + BS/BA in a related field and 4 or more years related experience. + Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education. + 4 or more years of government accounting experience or finance experience in a government contracting environment. + Advanced knowledge of CAS and FAR principles. + Experience in disclosure statement submittal, detailed cost impact (or GDM) preparation, or other complex financial analysis. + Solid analytical skills with the ability to multi-task and solve complex problems. + Highly skilled in MS Excel and proficient in personal computer usage, financial tools, and software including MS Office Products. + Good interpersonal and communication skills. + Ability to work as a team member and communicate effectively with immediate supervisor, team members, and other personnel in the group. + Ability to accurately describe the impact and effect of business transactions or decisions. **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** + CMA or CPA. + Professional experience and application of CAS and FAR principles and regulations. + Experience with SQL, Costpoint, and IFS. **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $78760.000 - $133870.000 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
