Job Description
Government Affairs Manager – Cluster North supports the development of AbbVie government affairs strategies in Cluster North by building affiliate GA capabilities and leveraging best practices across the Region in support of key business priorities. Also this role is responsible to shape and maintain the public image and reputation of their organization.
+ Identify and analyze key environmental and policy trends across Cluster North, supporting the development of GA strategies and plans in partnership with key stakeholders and affiliate teams.
+ Leading the Trade Associations and Embassies alignment in accordance with Business Cluster Plan and the IGA Strategic Planning for the Cluster North – LATAM.
+ Identifies and implements policies and strategies to develop affiliate GA capabilities to achieve foundational excellence within the Area or region.
+ Support the development of affiliate GA capabilities, leveraging best practice and through the delivery of training and development programs. Ensure the adoption of the Frame the Future program to develop affiliate capabilities and strengthen strategy development.
+ Develop GA functional plan to Affiliate Brand Team and drive inputs in affiliate brand team plans.
+ Establish and maintain relationships with key policymakers and other Key Stake Holders to support brand teams goals and objectives.
+ Identify key targets, prioritize resources and implement networking and outreach programs.
+ Developing and implementing media strategies to enhance AbbVie's public image, building relationships with journalists, editors, and other media professionals.
+ Engaging with patient advocacy groups, healthcare professionals, and other key stakeholders to foster support and collaboration.
Qualifications
+ Lawyer, Business Administrator or Industrial Engineer desirable master in Public Administration, Economics and/or similar fields.
+ Must be fluent in English (oral/written).Over five years of experience in government relations.
+ Minimum of three to five years’ experience in government affairs, public affairs or public policy in pharmaceutical and/or health care industry and/or trade association and/or government including relevant experience in in health care, with some experience with the pharmaceutical industry is preferred, as well as an understanding of how governments make decisions and what types of input can help shape those decisions.
+ It is desirable that this person has experience managing government affairs across multiple countries in Latin America.
+ Candidate must possess strong analytical, critical thinking and interpersonal skills, the ability to speak and write persuasively and with clarity, strong organizational skills, flexibility and adaptability to changing requirements, resourcefulness and creativity, strong attention to detail, a proven track record of being able to work under deadlines and an ability to work collaboratively in a fluid organizational environment.
+ Must be an individual who works well in a team environment and enjoys working in a collegial, yet highly demanding culture. Must be able to work collaboratively with business leaders and other internal stakeholders.
+ Experience and ability in matrix and project management. Should possess high degree of strategic thinking, decision-making, and tactical skills to develop broad strategy and policy, options, and recommendations to address issues expeditiously.
+ Capacity to act independently and demonstrate sound business judgment within the scope of assigned project and activities
