This is a professional position that assists in the facilitation of core performance and quality improvement components of the Performance Management System and assures the Department maintains accreditation status.
Your Specific Responsibilities:
Assists with development, implementation, and evaluation of activities and tasks required to successfully implement the Agency Performance Management and Quality Improvement Plan, as outlined in the Project Plan. Convenes additional team members to ensure deliverable/activity is successfully accomplished within scope, budget, timeframe, and quality standards. Executes deliverable/activity tasks and milestones, as outlined in the Project Plan. Leads working groups and provides technical support to individual’s assigned responsibility for individual action items. Provides periodic status updates to the Project Plan.
Develop, implement, and improve tools and resources agency wide, which build capacity for process improvement. This includes web resources, training, and sharing of best practices. Provide consultation to Central Office Divisions, Bureaus/Offices, and county health departments by responding to customers’ requests for technical assistance in the core areas of performance management and quality improvement.
Participate in the department’s Public Health Accreditation Initiative as assigned in the Department’s Accreditation Project Plan.
Complete other assignments as assigned which further the initiatives of the Bureau of Performance Assessment and Improvement.
Incumbent is assigned a Purchasing Card and will follow Florida Law, purchasing policies of the Department of Health and the purchasing guidelines for using the Purchasing Card.
Emergency duties may also include in-state and/or out-of-state deployment.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of, and experience applying research and evaluation methods; collecting, organizing and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data; identifying and developing findings and areas for continuous quality improvement; developing recommendations and approaches to improve performance
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to facilitate and lead meetings
Strong skills in automation software such as Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio

Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public health, public administration, business administration or related field with strong program evaluation coursework. Two years of experience in project management and/or project planning, conducting research, developing policy, evaluating program effectiveness or determining program performance to identify areas for performance improvement.
A master's degree from an accredited college or university in public health, public administration or business administration can substitute for some of the required experience.
Experience working with or in a county health department and experience providing technical assistance or consultative services. Experience with performance management and QI Projects.
