Government Compliance Lead

The Government Compliance Lead supports the Director and Government Compliance and Internal Audit team with ensuring compliance with US government laws and regulations. Internally the Lead will be responsible for a wide variety of detailed financial analysis, preparation/support of as related to Intrepid’s Contract Close-out Procedures, as well as other Government Compliance functions including Forward Pricing Rate and Incurred Cost Proposals, External and Internal Audits and Special Project support.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

As Intrepid’s contract close-out specialist, the lead, will support the Director, examining records to ensure proper recording of transactions and compliance with applicable laws, agreements, and policies to complete government contract close-out requests.

·         In conjunction with Intrepid’s Contract organization monitor contract-close-out activities, preparing reports of findings and recommendations to management.

Support Forward Pricing and Incurred Cost Proposal Submissions as directed by the Manager of Government Compliance.

·         Assists or performs rate calculations, monitors rates and provides updates to Intrepid management as directed by the Manager of Government Compliance.

·         Supports/responds to various data and information requests for Government Audits (DCMA & DCAA) and other external agencies.

·         Supports ad-hoc requests, special projects, and Government Compliance functions including Disclosure Statements, and CAS cost impacts.

Assists in the preparation and presentation of Compliance related training materials as needed. Supports Internal Audits as directed by the Internal Audit Lead. Act as Intrepid’s lead for retention and maintenance of company-wide financial records. Work closely with cross-functional teams to promote and support a culture of compliance.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required. Must have a minimum of seven years of relevant federal government contract audit and accounting experience. Prior experience working for or heavy interaction with DCAA (Defense Contract Audit Agency) is desirable. An in-depth working knowledge of and practical experience with the FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations) and CAS (Cost Accounting Standards) is desirable.


KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Advanced proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required. Knowledge of Costpoint, COGNOS and TM1 is preferred. Knowledge of external (government) contract information databases – Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE), Federal Procurement Data System, USA Spending.gov., etc. Must have strong organizational and analytical skills. Must be detail oriented and ability to prioritize work and multitask effectively. Must have the ability to work well in both a team setting and independently. Must have the ability to work efficiently under sometimes stressful conditions to meet deadlines and due dates. Must have effective interpersonal skills for interface with government auditors and company management. Must have effective verbal and written communications skills. Problem solving and team building skills required.

 

SECURITY CLEARNACE: Must have the ability to obtain a Secret Level Clearance.
