Job Description
Fugro is seeking an experienced Government Liaison Manager to join our team in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all government-related activities, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations, and obtaining necessary permits for our marine operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Government Relations: Establish and maintain strong relationships with government authorities and regulatory bodies. Act as the primary point of contact for all government-related matters.
• Permitting: Manage the process of obtaining, renewing, and maintaining all necessary permits for marine operations. Ensure compliance with local, regional, and national regulations.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on local laws and regulations affecting marine operations. Ensure that all activities comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all permits, applications, and correspondence with regulatory authorities. Ensure timely submission of required documents and reports.
• Coordination: Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project operations and timely acquisition of permits.
• Risk Management: Identify potential regulatory and permitting issues and develop strategies to mitigate risks. Provide guidance and training to project teams on compliance requirements.
• Reporting: Prepare and submit regular reports on permit status, compliance, and government interactions to senior management.
• Client Interaction: Liaise with clients to understand their requirements and provide technical support and consultation as needed.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in government liaison, permitting, or regulatory compliance, preferably in the marine or construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi Arabian laws and regulations related to marine operations.
• Proven experience in managing government relations and obtaining permits.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and permit management software.
• Fluency in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
