The Work You Will Do:
DEP’s Office of Technology and Information Services (OTIS) is currently seeking a Government Operations Consultant I. This is a varied and highly responsible position involving administrative and operational work in support of the human resource functions within the Office of Technology and Information Services (OTIS). The incumbent of this position will represent OTIS and must be helpful, cooperative, polite, respectful, and courteous at all times in the interactions with customers.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
This is a varied and highly responsible position involving administrative and operational work in support of the human resource functions within the Office of Technology and Information Services (OTIS). The incumbent of this position must demonstrate strong relationship and interpersonal skills in working with program staff and potential candidates. This position serves as a customer service representative on behalf of this division when interacting with customers through all communication media. The employee is expected to identify and meet the needs of customers in order to provide excellent customer service. Employee should be helpful, cooperative, polite, respectful and concerned at all times in the interactions with customers and when representing the Department or the State.
Specific duties and responsibilities include:
+ In coordination with OTIS’ HR manager, performs HR-related onboarding and offboarding tasks for FTE and OPS positions, including, but not limited to, scheduling interviews, preparing interview packets and schedules, maintaining org charts, submitting Cherwell tickets, ensuring required trainings are completed, and maintaining recruitment files. Assists in maintaining accurate and complete electronic personnel files for FTE and OPS positions.
+ Serves as a back-up for HR-related onboarding and offboarding tasks for OTIS’ contracted positions (staff augmentation and contracted projects), performing tasks similar to the onboarding and offboarding of FTE and OPS positions.
+ Serves as OTIS’ requisition manager, including opening requisitions in People First and posting advertisements following DEP and OTIS standards; performs an initial screening of incoming applications and provides applications and next step instructions to the hiring manager after the closing date.
+ Serves as a back-up to OTIS’ Leave Liaison/Timekeeper, including but not limited to, ensuring timesheets are submitted and approved by established deadlines; reporting LWOP, as requested; and assisting employees with FMLA and other leave-related questions/issues.
+ Performs related tasks as required.

Preferred Qualifications :
+ Experience with HR-related tasks in the state-government setting
