Government Relations Director (Western Region) - Remote
Signature Aviation is seeking a Government Relations Director to lead engagement with state and local policymakers, regulatory agencies, and industry stakeholders. This role will be responsible for developing and executing advocacy strategies that align with the company's business objectives and ensure compliance with evolving regulations. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in government relations, legislative processes, and public policy, preferably in the aviation or transportation industry. **Location: This is a remote position based in the Western Region.** + Develop and execute strategies to engage with state and local government officials, agencies, and policymakers to advance Signature Aviation's interests. + Advocate for policies that support aviation industry growth, infrastructure investment, and operational efficiency. + Monitor and influence legislative and regulatory developments impacting business and general aviation. + Track, analyze, and assess the impact of proposed laws, regulations, and policies on Signature Aviation's operations. + Ensure compliance with all relevant state and local government regulations. + Collaborate with internal legal, regulatory, and operational teams to address compliance risks and opportunities. + Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, trade associations, and community leaders. + Represent Signature Aviation in industry coalitions, public hearings, and regulatory meetings. + Develop grassroots engagement strategies and support corporate social responsibility initiatives. + Provide internal leadership with insights and recommendations on government affairs strategies. + Draft policy briefs, advocacy materials, and position statements to effectively communicate company priorities. + Educate internal stakeholders on legislative and regulatory developments. **Minimum Education and/or Experience:** + Bachelor's degree in political science, public administration, law, business, or a related field. + Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in government affairs, legislative advocacy, or regulatory affairs, preferably in aviation, transportation, or a related industry. + Strong network within state and local government circles, including relevant agencies and industry groups. **Additional knowledge and skills:** + Deep understanding of state and local legislative and regulatory processes. + Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. + Ability to influence decision-makers and navigate complex political landscapes. + Strong analytical skills and ability to assess policy implications. + Proven ability to work independently and collaborate across teams. + Willingness to travel frequently to engage with stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions. + Experience working with government contracts, permitting processes, or public-private partnerships is a plus.
