Weyerhaeuser is seeking individuals who are committed to safety, have a positive attitude, excellent work ethic and a desire to work in a manufacturing facility. We are currently looking to fill a Grader position at our Grifton Lumber facility.

The incumbent MUST be committed to safety, have a positive attitude and excellent work ethic.

The successful candidate will:

Clean, calibrate, align and perform minor maintenance on the Lucidyne and other value related equipment in the Planer MillResponsible for working in and creating a safe environment and cultureEnsures specifications of high value products are met and manages overall lumber quality on the Dry Side (Planer Mill)Learn to grade 2” dimensional lumber and pass SPIB certification processHand grade reentry lumber and watch lumber to verify Lucidyne accuracy on the lineMonitors the auto grading system and performs spot check for quality issuesMonitors performance of moisture meter, stamping, and grading systems, and makes adjustments or performs basic maintenance as needed on all value adding equipment in the Planer department (i.e. cleans, calibrates/aligns, and troubleshoots problems)Other duties as required including but not limited to operating equipment

Work schedule:
Monday to Friday 4:30-4:30 alternating day and night shift
Some weekends as needed

Self-starter with the ability to work without direct supervision, as necessaryAble to perform basic math and basic computer skillsA sense of urgency in terms of maximizing production, and minimizing downtime is necessary in this type of manufacturing environmentAbility to work closely with supervisors and others, being a team player/leaderGood communication skills and demonstrate positive attitudeMaintain a clean work stationExhibit good performance, safety and attendance recordsTasks performed involve work with equipment and material that require familiarity with formal safety procedures and the following of these procedures in order to maintain the safety of the work environmentWilling and able to interpret and apply verbal and/or written instructions pertaining to jobWilling and able to work a rotating shift: Monday-Friday 4:30-4:30 alternating day and night shift, some weekends as needed
