## **About the teams:** Software Engineers at Uber have an impact across a variety of business and technology decisions spanning projects and locations. As a Software Engineer on the Engineering team in Brazil, you will be an member of Uber's development center in LATAM, developing products across Uber and all around the World. We have open positions in many teams within different structures. Take a look at a quick description about each one of them: **\- Security** team is responsible for managing identity and access across Uber's corporate environment, acting as the gatekeepers for critical systems. We oversee multiple tier-0 services, including identity storage and multi-factor authentication (MFA) for both human and non-human users. As a high-impact, high-visibility team, our work touches every Uber employee. Key projects like the Yubikey rollout and MTLS/Device Trust enforcement are known company-wide. We maintain essential services, including single sign-on and MFA, without which employees cannot function, ensuring the security and smooth operation of Uber's workforce. **\- Uber for Family** was made for family organizers who want to share their payment profile with their loved ones to pay, manage the spending limits and conveniently track their status and ETA when they invite them to join your Family Profile. **\- Uber for Teens** is a customized experience inside Uber for Family exclusive for teenagers. Teen accounts give the teenager the freedom to request their own rides, all under supervision of their guardians. Plus, with live safety features and real-time updates, the guardian can follow along from pickup to drop off. ## **\- Insurance team**: At Uber, we put safety first. One of the ways we work to accomplish this goal is to minimize the insurance risk, and therefore potential costs, for both Uber and all users of our platform. To help us accomplish this, we created Insurance Tech. Insurance Tech focuses on three pillars; compliance, claims, and affinity programs. Insurance is a multi-billion dollar business for us. Every contribution leads to significant cost saving, earning for Uber. Joining the Insurance team will give anyone the opportunity to be part of a state of the art solution in the industry. Contributes to the build and maintenance of backend services and solutions to support user-facing products, downstream services, or infrastructure tools and platforms used across Uber leveraging the support and guidance of others on the team. **What you will do:** - Writes high-quality code (i.e., reliable, readable, efficient, testable), provides quality code reviews, and creates comprehensive tests and quality documentation using software engineering principles. - Participates in on-call rotations and follows best practices to troubleshoot production incidents with some guidance. - Monitors product quality in the production environment, identifying, triaging and fixing bugs and inefficiencies. ## **Basic qualifications:** - Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, programming and associated programming languages and frameworks. (e.g. C, C++, Java, Python or Golang) - Advanced English. - Recent bachelor graduate in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field concluded from Oct/2023 to Dec/2024. **Preferred qualifications:** - Software engineering experience gained through work, education, coursework, training, research or similar in any area. - Demonstrates the ability to understand and translate requirements to system design.
