Budget Title: Staff Assistant (SL-2)
Salary: $49,261
Binghamton University is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Graduate Operations Assistant working as a key member of the team in the Office of Graduate Recruitment and Admissions. The Graduate Operations Assistant will provide functional system support for admissions, recruitment and student service support. The incumbent will provide outstanding customer service and support to staff, visitors and applicants.
+ Provide knowledgeable, resourceful and empathetic customer service and develop best practices for customer service via in-person, telephone, email and virtual communications
+ Coordinate the intake of transcripts and other application materials
+ Manage office logistics for graduate and student assistants
+ Assist with webinars for applicants and/or admitted students on the completion of required application materials
+ Maintain and run queries to ensure the integrity of the admissions records and use results to troubleshoot day-to-day record maintenance
+ Ensure applications are being processed accurately and efficiently; Implementing quality control procedures
+ Assist with application issues within the Slate CRM, Banner or 4+1 Intent Application by providing review and troubleshooting
+ Build and maintain automated system loads requiring knowledge of Banner and Slate
+ Review and assess core admissions processes and make recommendations to streamline processes and improve service
+ Develop and implement a training protocol for admissions processes
+ Oversee and monitor admissions email boxes, maintain canned answers, evaluate email correspondents and provide statistics
+ Understand the admissions application process and be prepared to help others understand as needed
+ Assist with Banner and Slate testing, upgrades and troubleshooting
+ Work with the Senior Staff Assistant to the Vice Provost to maintain office supplies, equipment and materials associated with recruitment and admissions communications (i.e. printed materials, letterhead, envelopes)
+ Support campus events as needed
Job Requirements:
+ Bachelor's degree
+ Data entry experience
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office
+ Demonstrated analytical thinking
+ Excellent customer service skills
+ Demonstrated ability with learning new systems/technology
+ Ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced office environment and work successfully as part of a team
Preferred:
+ Experience with CRM system (e.g., Slate, Salesforce)
+ Experience with a student information system (e.g., Banner, PeopleSoft)
+ Experience providing training or instruction
