Graduate Assistant
The David C Driskell Center at the University of Maryland Art seeks a one year Graduate Assistant GA in campus connections and community engagement The Driskell Center Graduate Assistant will work with the Assistant Director of Exhibitions and Programs to create mutually beneficial partnerships with other on campus units to enhance programs and increase the animation of The Driskell Center spaces This will include developing and executing public facing programs for both the on campus community and the wider DMV region eg events exhibition tours training for gallery monitors K 12 engagement in coordination with UMD contractors and offsite vendors Programming 50 develop and execute public facing programs for both the on campus community and the wider DMV region eg events exhibition tours training for gallery monitors K 12 engagement in coordination with UMD contractors and offsite vendors develop and manage a gallery ambassador program for approximately three undergraduate students Communications 40 post and maintain at least 20 hours per week draft and edit educational materials for exhibitions and permanent collections in print and web based formats draft content for The Driskell Centers social media Administration 10 attend departmental meetings and retreats prepare semester reports for staff on assigned projects including budget tracking schedule tours for exhibitions for on campus groups and other public visitors
