DUTIES: Responsible for the leadership and development of student athletes including:

Discipleship Discipleship of men and women in the program to facilitate spiritual growth in each student athlete

Teaching and modeling the value of Christian competition

Monitoring academic performance of student athletes and working to ensure the discipleship, development, and retention of student athletes

Counseling team members in disciplinary, academic, or personal matters while consulting with LETU administration on matters requiring resolution of problems.

Recruiting Recruit and retain quality student-athletes who understand and embrace LeTourneau University’s mission and vision as the Christian Polytechnic University

Find and enroll student-athletes that are equipped with the ability to achieve academic and athletic success

Working in conjunction with the Director to fill a roster with an appropriately competitive number

Excellence Work to ensure we are the most effective and most successful athletic department in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in all facets, including competitive and administrative excellence

Preparing the student-athletes in event-specific technique and training and planning competition strategies accordingly, under the supervision of the Director

Handling all social media accounts for the LETU Men's and Women’s Track and Field and Cross-Country programs, regularly producing engaging content

Maintain an elite level of professionalism with all student-athletes in the LeTourneau Athletic Department.

Service Regularly serve in the department in any area needed, including spiritual development, home events oversight, and fundraising activities

Contributing and caring for the development and growth of the athletic department, in tangible ways

Creating service and mission opportunities for student athletes to invest in the community

Administrative Effectiveness

Desire to assist in the operations of the program, including securing hotel contracts, transportation contracts, meal coordination, travel itineraries, budget allocation, expenditure recording, inventory, gear design, meet entry, and meet administration

Ensuring compliance with the University, SCAC, and NCAA policies and regulations

Approaching every facet of this position with a high degree of professionalism

Performing other duties as requested by the Director or Vice President for Athletics

QUALIFICATIONS: LeTourneau University seeks a person with an enthusiastic and contagious Christian faith committed to a Christian higher education that integrates Christian faith with learning.  

An accredited bachelor's degree is required; along with acceptance into an LETU graduate program.   Ability to be a dynamic leader within the athletic department  Strong organizational ability  Ability to work cooperatively with other administrators, coaches, students, and faculty members.  Good written and oral communication skills.  A strong understanding of and commitment to NCAA Division III.  An acceptance of and commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
