In addition to having tuition paid for, this position receives an $11,000 stipend ($1,000 each month), and a meal plan. Job description: Responsible for specifically designated aspects of the volleyball program, exercises independent judgment in providing technical expertise in the fundamentals of volleyball, teaching student-athletes basic and advanced skills. Assist with preparation for practices, game management for home games and team travel responsibilities. Candidates will also assist with community relations and outreach activities as well as work summer camps and clinics as needed. Conduct themselves in a professional manner consistent with the values of the Institute. Assists in recruiting quality scholar student-athletes. Coordinate and provide administration for home and away events. Assist in travel accommodations and communications. Work in conjunction with Athletic Training Staff.
Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required Experience within a collegiate athletic environment preferred, at the NCAA Division III level desired Collegiate playing experience preferred Strong organizational, leadership, communication, interpersonal skills, problem Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to work with diverse groups, facilitate group process, and foster collaborative decision making Exceptional ability to multitask, prioritize projects, and extraordinary attention to detail Computer skills are required, along with the expectation to learn additional computer software programs, such as Front Rush, scouting / film breakdown software, and a variety of recruiting sites
Qualifications:
Applicants must be accepted to a Indiana State University graduate program and remain in good standing with ISU Applicant must pass background check and motor vehicle records authorization To perform this job successfully, the GA will become familiar with the program's recruiting software and identify, evaluate, contact, and build relationships with prospective student-athletes. This will be accomplished through attending high school games, attending showcase events, reaching out to HS and Travel coaches, reviewing game / skills footage, and other activities as determined by the Head Coach and/or Director of Athletics.
