Graduate Data Analyst Summer Internship

Experience during the program

Our summer internship program runs for 10 weeks, from late May to early August. Our program offers interns a unique dual experience. 

Interns spend half of their time on a team, collaborating with Data & Analytics colleagues and business representatives to work on a real-world project. Projects are tailored so interns can experience the full project cycle. Past projects centered on areas such as enhancing thecustomer experience, optimizing business spend, identifying new market opportunities, providing business insights, model development, and engineering metrics & dashboarding. Interns are assigned to projects based on their backgrounds and project locations. 

For the remainder of their time, interns are individually partnered with a host team within the analytic community to participate in ongoing work such as data reporting and visualization, data mining, automation and creating dashboards, ad-hoc analysis, and more. This component of the program provides interns with direct exposure to teams in areas that align to their education and interests.

Interns are expected to adopt a hybrid work structure and work out of one of our headquarters in Columbus, OH, Johnston RI, or Westwood, MA.  

Participants can expect to: 

Deliver personalized and sophisticated treatment strategies based on predictive / prescriptive modelsAnswer ad-hoc questions and information needs using data from BI and data platforms needs using data productsIdentify opportunities for process optimizationEffectively communicate with cross-functional partners and internal teams to deliver solutions in a timely fashion, using storytelling to present data in a persuasive mannerGather requirements to understand the business question Work within our data repositories to assemble, manage, and investigate relevant dataGain feedback from partners and iteratively fine tune an approach to sufficiently resolve the question and maximize business impactPresent their contributions to colleagues and business leaders as a capstone exercise 

What you’ll need to apply

Basic Qualifications:

If not completed within the timeframe, your application will be automatically withdrawn from consideration.Currently pursuing a graduate degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Analytics, Computer Science, or other data & analytic-related degreeExpected graduation date between December 2025 and Spring 2026 for master’s students or concurrently enrolled in a PhD programMinimum GPA of 3.0Experience working with raw as well as prepared datasetsExcellent attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to operate in a team environment, and collaborate with colleagues from a range of backgroundsStrong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to successfully communicate analytic results, business insights, and business impact to a non-technical audienceAnalytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilitiesSkills in storytelling, data-driven decision making, data analysis and customer centricity
