Pennoni is hiring for an upwardly-mobile Graduate Industrial Hygienist / Environmental Scientist to join our growing EHS (Environmental, Health, & Safety) team on a full-time, direct basis while based at our office in New York, NY.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Contribute to a variety of EHS projects:  Phase I Environmental Site Assessments [ESA’s], asbestos surveys, Lead-Based Paint [LBP] surveys, mold assessments, Indoor Air Quality [IAQ] assessments, etc. Assist with inspections, remediation oversight, laboratory data interpretation, post-remediation clearances, and preparation of inspection & remediation oversight reports.  Work independently on assigned projects in NYC as well as the surrounding areas (including Northern NJ); these projects occasionally require working during evenings, weekends, and/or extended stay travel. Additional duties may be assigned, as needed.

 

 

Basic Requirements:

Associate’s (or higher) in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, EHS, Safety Management, Natural Science, or a related field of study (RECENT GRADUATES ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY!).

 

This person will be expected to work regularly in the field and in the office, so they will be required to possess a Valid Driver’s License as well as Reliable Transportation.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Asbestos Inspector license in NYS (and/or EPA training). Asbestos Project Monitor license in NYS. Lead Inspector license in NJ (and/or EPA training). Experience working with field-based testing & sampling at client sites. Experience working in construction. Proficiency on all standard Microsoft Office software applications (e.g.:  Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Strong analytical skills. Proven ability to adapt / desire to learn new things while on the job. Strong attention-to-detail skills with the proven ability to work with a high-level of accuracy & precision, especially while following established procedures (as-written). Proven ability to work independently in a team environment with minimal supervision. Proven ability to work in a self-motivated manner while displaying excellent time management skills (i.e.:  effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple assignments). Technical writing skills. Excellent communication skills (verbal & written); this person will be expected to maintain field notes that are legible, accurate, and detailed.

 

 

TARGET SALARY RANGE:  $55,000 – $70,000 (per year)
