Your role and responsibilities

You shall ensure the electrical Service portfolio is delivered effectively according to ABB standard processes and safety guidelines to satisfy customers. Executing technical support, act as specialist and solve problems in your own area of expertise. Proactively communicate with both the customer and ABB sales teams to ensure customer needs are understood and business opportunities utilised for Service growth. The role will be based out of Aberdeen office and will require travel to other ABB offices in UK and customer sites (both onshore and offshore). As a graduate engineer your responsibilities will develop in line with the competencies required for the role.•Gain an understanding of ABB’s electrical product and service portfolio•Participate in all aspects of the ABB UK Graduate development program•Work closely with the electrical team consisting of service and project engineers •Work alongside ABB factories to deliver customer requirements •Learn how to read electrical drawings •Produce succinct but comprehensive reports of site visits•Effectively communicate with all internal and external stakeholders•Undertake ABB electrical product trainings •Work on site – onshore and offshore on ABB products, initially under supervision with the view to become independent service engineer for routine maintenance activity•Troubleshoot and carry our fault-finding activities and corrective maintenance with experience•Support Bids and Proposals team in generation of quotations•Develop own time management skills and learn to work to project deliverables. •Be available on an ‘on call’ basis to advise customers out of hours and, if necessary, make unscheduled site visits•Advises clients as to maintenance procedures, site planning, operational methods, process measurement and control strategies and schemes•Promotes sales of ABB products and solutions and represent ABB’s brand and ethics when interacting with customers and 3rd party organisations

Qualifications for the role

Will have graduated with an Electrical based Engineering Degree Have a good understanding of applications of electrical equipment in industries, specifically in the energy industry Enjoy working on site and being ‘hands-on’ with electrical equipment Should have willingness to learn and the drive to put in time and effort in bringing himself/herself up to speed with the role requirements to be an effective member of the teamStrong communication skills, both written and verbal A self-starter with the ability to work on his or her own initiative, plan well and follow through to project completionBe flexible and prepared to travel to customer sites
