Employee Type: Regular Work Shift: Day - 12 hour shift (United States of America) **Join Team Tidelands and help people live better lives through better health!** **Position Summary** : The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of nursing care based on standards of care and professional nursing practice; accountable for the outcomes of nursing care delivered. **Essential Functions:** + Provide medication safety with BMV scanning, hand hygiene, patient identification, medication reconciliation, and patient medication education. + Documents nursing assessment and interventions in the electronic medical record in an accurate and timely manner to reflect a comprehensive and integrated approach to patient/family care and clinical research. + Complete annual goals per previous year’s performance appraisal + Complete education contact hours specific to practice for professional development. **QUALIFICATIONS** **Education** : + **Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN)** required. **Experience** **:** + Previous experience in an acute care setting preferred. **Licensure and certification** **:** + **RN Licensure** application in process with South Carolina Board of Nursing including the scheduled NCLEX testing date for approval to practice with temporary authorization. This authorization is valid only within the provisions as outlined by SCLLR. Must provide an official copy of final transcript and a copy of ATT to test. + **Basic Life Support (BLS) certification** required to be initially completed with the Organizational Development Office within 30 calendar days of hire date (exceptions to obtain certification from a provider other than the Organizational Development Office are approved by Organizational Development on a case by case basis). BLS Recertification is required every two (2) years. **Knowledge/Skills** **:** + Demonstrates effective and respectful communication with patients, families and the healthcare team. + Demonstrates ability to maintain patient and family privacy and confidentiality. + Ability to make knowledgeable clinical assessments and judgements. + Ability to educate patients and families. **Physical Requirements** **: Medium PAT Rating** While performing the duties of this job, the employee is **frequently** (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; **occasionally** (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) to use hands, fingers; and **frequently** to talk or hear. The employee must exert 20 to 35 pounds of force **occasionally** , and/or 10 to 15 pounds of force **frequently** , and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force **constantly** to move objects. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. May be exposed to infectious specimens, diseases, and soiled laundry, however, potential for personal harm or injury is limited when proper safety and health precautions are followed.
