GN assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame under the direct supervision of an RN. The Graduate Nurse provides care to his/her assigned patients utilizing the nursing process while coordinating care with other health care team members. The Graduate Nurse provides service to patients throughout the life span including newborns, children, adolescents, adults and geriatric age groups.
Minimum Education: Graduate of a School of Nursing Program.
Minimum Experience: Experience in an acute care facility preferred.
Certification/Licensure: State permit to practice as a Graduate Nurse. Current CPR required. NRP required within six months of hire.
For New Hires: Required certification must be obtained with in (1) year of employment. If currently certified, must maintain current certification.
Certification or completion courses must meet the standards of Memorial Medical Center.
