Unit Description:
This 30-bed unit provides care for high-acuity patients across a wide spectrum of complex specialties. Comorbidities are diverse and patients often require cardiac telemetry monitoring and/or mechanical ventilator support.
Full-time rotating day/night shift schedule (7am – 7pm or 7 pm – 7 am).Reporting to the Director of 3 South/Intermediate Care Unit.Unit equipped with two negative pressure rooms and patient lift assist equipment in all rooms.On-site Nurse educator.Acute/Critical Care course for nurses who are new to the acute, in-patient population.Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered continuum of care.Ability to communicate variances from patient goals and advocate on behalf of patient.Maintain accurate and timely healthcare records.Administer medications to patients, provide education and monitor for efficacy and side effects.Assess, monitor, report and record patient condition and pertinent changes.Design, implement and evaluate patient nursing care plans with healthcare team.Educates patients and family throughout stay and in preparation for discharge.Additional AdditionalMinimum licensure/certification required (if applicable)
Required:
Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree (BSN or MSN) preferred. Note, if the basic professional degree is not present on hire, the employee must engage in a basic professional nursing degree program within twelve (12) months of hireCurrent licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.BLS certification through the American Heart AssociationCurrent knowledge of nursing skills and practice.Computer and audiovisual skills using various applications: internet, email, word processingEffectively read, speak, write, compose and comprehend EnglishEffective eye and hand coordinationAbility to analyze and synthesize information in a rapidly changing environment.Effective problem-solving skills, including organization and prioritization.Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritizeAbility to work well with individuals and groups.-Pay Range- $37.88-$54.19
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
